I know you'll think it's madness but I highly recommend getting one of these
The diagnostic ability it will give you is superior to a generic code reader. I've had mine for 5 or so years now and it's paid for it's self so many times.

You'll be able to interact with the ABS module and ESP to be able to determine if the values it's seeing are correct.

Yeah, I've been looking at them. there is a car tuning company about half mile from my house so was hoping they might do me a solid. You need a windows 7 laptop aswell to use these dont you?

Indeed you do, can't beat the genuine diagnostic package for things like this. Any laptop with the ability to run a 32bit OS will be OK so XP > Windows 7 is good. I have an ancient laptop specifically for this. Super slow and the battery doesn't work but I only use it for car diagnostics so I can tolerate it.

spent a small fortune lately so this will have to go on a wish list i think. Spent not far off the price of the car on parts and tools so far. Atleast tools i can re-use.

On a twist / different note. I had a BG 182 and now have an Arctic Blue one (3/4). Ultimately i would like a nice RB 182, turini wheels and trendline seats. maybe wishing on getting hens teeth or rocking horse %^& but thats my aim i think.

Ok so a little progress. Managed to get the hubs off both sides. As with everything so far lol I had the odd issue and found the odd extra bit.
One disc screw i had to drill out another i just had to hammer a bigger hex bit into to get out.
The top Camber adjust bolts were a right pain until i worked out if i slowly turn then tap then turn then tap until its lined up they come out easy.
Anyway they're both off. One CV boot looks on its last legs and weirdly the back of one hub looks like its been ground. Discs and pads have got next to no wear on them so must have been fitted not long before being parked up. oh. and might be my eyes but i think one of the track rod ends might be bent aswell.

well thats is so far. ABS sensor is on its way (1st one was wrong).

Ah balls didn't realise these only work with 32 bit I'm waiting on one from China land.
Any idea if they can be updated to work with 64 bit I see people on ebay selling the v195 software for £4.

From what i've read they can't. Lots of cheap laptops with win 7 on on ebay though. seen a few for like £25

You can get the radio code from the serial on the headunit if you are without (There used to be a page on here for it too)
Bilt Hamber Deox C is very good if you want to shift some of that rust, I done my calipers with it and they came out like new (Stick the part into a container and pour a hot kettle in with the Deox and leave it overnight)

Sounds like you have one hell of a revival on your hands, best of luck.

Can i soak my Hubs in this stuff without it damaging the bearings?

Is that abs ring chamfered on both sides?

If it's not, I have a feeling that might be on the wrong way round...
I didnt pay any attention when I did mine 3 years ago haha. Never had a light on, I'm sure they're identical side to side

The ones I have came with a bigger chamfer on one side so that they sit right in on the shaft.

Can see it sitting out a bit here.

I thought that but the other side is the same. Slight overhang. It’s upto the shoulder though. All a learning curve for me.

Yeah the Deox C is pretty harmless to anything but rust, but I would put bearings in too - they are an absolute nightmare to get out though (Had to use acetylene and a press on mine)

Looks like you have upper camber bolts too

yeah its got camber bolts but i'm not planning on putting them back in. it was sitting low when when i got it but i'm putting all new suspension in and lifting it abit from where is currently is.

Will give the Deox a go. Its in the post. Will look at new bearings after lock down if i need some. Hubs might end up being scrap yet. Theyre heavily rusted.

Good spot. I triple checked it. It was slightly proud where you’d ringed. Thank you. Tapped it in a little. All good now. 👍
