Another brief update on the car,

Had all the steering arms, track rod ends, CV's and bushes replaced at the front, and the Christmas light dash has been started on this week.

Managed to remove the ABS & Traction lights already.. Good progress!

Here are some pictures of the car outside the workshop, Very happy with the way it looks already.

Its been a while since I updated this, few changes have been made..

The car is still at Beaniesport as there has been some changes to the finish article. I'm hoping to have it road worthy by CSF but if not at least Trax!

The interior is completely stripped and painted gloss white

My girlfriend did a lot more work than myself if I'm honest..

The half roll cage has arrived too, which will be off to the powder coaters this week to be painted too, I've also had the dash flocked to match the steering wheel too.

Sabelt harnesses have arrived and a replacement JC5 Cup box ready to be fitted too.

Just need to Order/Fit:
PMS Shifter
Refurbed Wheels & Calipers
New engine mounts
Fit Roof Scoop

Thanks for looking.

Looks great! Did you brush/roller or spray? Any tips, I'm painting inside of my RB white soon!

@RyG Thanks, I actually sprayed the whole lot, its not quite done yet as I wanted to fit the cage before the final coats on the floors.
My only pointers would be don't scrimp any costs on cheaper gloss white paint in a bulk buy, I managed to buy a bulk of 12 cans for around £15. They were all rubbish, so I used them basically to build up the coats and brought 6 Halfords Washing Machine white to give the top coat. Hope that helps?

Thats good to know. I have a couple of tins of Hammerite white, but knew I'd need more so I won't cheap out. Around 6 or 7 should do then?

Which cage did you go for? I have a Safety Devices in at the moment and will probably remove to paint the interior.

That should give a great base coat for you. Least when you brush it on you'll get a great even coat. 6-7 Should do it fine imo. The cage was a safety device half cage. I've been told its easier to remove the cage when painting. You'll find that its very tight when spraying so you'll need as much space as possible.

What colour did you go for on the cage?

My cage is black. I kind of wish I had a white cage, but not sure if it would be too much with white interior.

This is my car:

That looks awesome, especially with the white F1's! I was originally going for a white cage, but have you considered the two different shades of white? if you painted the car with hammerite & aerosol, but then had the cage poweder coated white, it may look a little odd if there different. so going black is probably best? I have gone for a sunflower yellow? along with the same colour calipers.. I hope it works!!

Just looking to get some feedback on a photoshop (I hope you don't mind me using your image for the photoshop @Dr Jekyll )

I did of the colour scheme I had in mind initially. However I feel something is missing. Not sure it looks quite right :/

The cage is already powder coated yellow and the interior is already painted gloss white. What are peoples thoughts on the black wheels?

Couple of options in my head atm..
White wheels & Yellow callipers
Black wheels & Yellow callipers
Anthracite wheels & Yellow callipers

Any feedback on this, would be appreciated!

I'll be honest (and try not to offend) - I'm not mad on that :( There seems to be too much going on. Not sure what to change though without changing all of the yellow

Maybe yellow bullets/wing mirrors? Make it a full on theme?

Yeah I know what you mean about it not being quite right at the minute.

I'll have a look at doing what you mentioned above and see if its any better! May try just black details and remove the yellow entirely.

Just a couple of updates from last week.

Car is still at Beaniesport, making good progress every weekend ATM.

Managed to get the cage painted & welded in, I think it looks great imo!

The flocked upper dash and steering column is fitted too.

Seats need to be bolted in after touching up the white paint work. Shortly followed by the harnesses and finishing touches.

More updates on Saturday..

Oh and a quick shot of my girlfriends new 595c Turismo.

Heres a couple of dying phone photos! I quickly took at the weekend.

Another quick update from last weekend.

Managed to fit the freshly powedercoated wheels. Stuck with the OZ F1's as its always nice to keep with the original wheels I think they still look great. The calipers have all been painted the same colour as the cage too as they were all different colours before it was a mess. I've also managed to fit 15 & 20mm spacers all round, looks a lot more aggressive from all angles. I think it could be a little lower tho?

The fog light ducts will be going back in, I was just fitting the ducting to the back of them. A few more touches this weekend and it should be ready for a MOT and track time!

Pictures to follow shortly..

Popped up to Beanie's today to check on progress.

Wiring is well on the way. Shifter still to fit..

Hoping to have it back for the end of the month.

Saw a rather popular 200 there today too.

So I've finally got the car back from Beaniesport.

I've been working away on the final few bits now it's at home. The are still a couple of bits I need to order :

Second Motamec Harness
Replacement Injector
Grip tape for the footwells

Chris at Beaniesport has carried out all the work, and has done a great job..

I'll post a list of the work done later on, but I think a couple of pictures are in order from the collection.

More updates on the weekend!

Nice update today.

Spent the day travelling upto Buxton in the Peak District to meet Adam the photographer for PFC Magazine. Braved the conditions and after cleaning the car religiously after the horrid motorway dirt..

Here's a couple of behind the scenes shots

I'll confirm when the magazine has told me which upcoming issue it's in.

Long overdue update,

Decided this Bank Holiday weekend to tidy up the engine bay and clean the car. Its been sat in the garage for weeks since the MOT ran out.

The MOT is now booked this coming week, with the new Sports Cat to be fitted as well. I'd like to think soon after this a track day will be booked!

Here is what it was like before;

Other than the odd track day coming up, I'd like to finish up tidying the engine bay with new hoses, bolts, rubbers etc. I'm keen on the Throttle Body Group buy developments too.

Thanks for looking!

Update time

We finally got around to booking our first track day just after the Bank Holiday weekend. We decided to book Bedford GT Circuit on the 27th.

As the car is owned between 3 of us, finding a suitable day that works for all is certainly a challenge. The overall experience was really good, we all did our homework on the track, what to bring & preparation on the car. Weather wise it was near perfect! maybe a tad too hot!

The car ran faultless all day, other than regular fluid checks and tighten the wheel nuts etc. We've decided higher compound of brake pads is needed, ideally DS2500 or 11.1 would be ideal. I plan on changing the brake fluid and fitting braided hoses over the next week or so.

Managed to purchase a few images of the day. Along with the GoPro footage which has come out really well too. Already looking forward to booking another one.

Update time

If I'm honest the 182 has been somewhat neglected since the arrival of the 172 Cup. Everything is easier and a lot more straightforward to do on the Cup at the moment. Anyway I've managed to finally order the parts for the ITB's from PMS and they arrived this morning. I've got a couple of other deliveries due anytime this afternoon, which complete all the parts all bar the ECU.

I'm already fairly excited to see how this turns out, I've always wanted a set of ITB's I just hope it lives up to expectations.

Here's what I've had delivered;
  • PMS Breather Plate
  • PMS Coil pack relocation Mount
  • PMS Air Con Delete
  • PMS Radiator
  • RevoTec Fan
  • MTC Yellow Hose Kit
  • Torque Oil Catch Tank
  • ATPower Foam Filter
The RPD parts have already arrived last week in preparation for this and they are; Type D Coolant and Full service kit.

I'm hoping to get most of this fitted on the 21st Feb, due to work commitments I can't get to it sooner. In the meantime further smaller updates on the Cup will continue.

Quick update.

Managed to spend some time on the 182 over the weekend. Started fitting the new coolant pipes, which make a huge difference already.

I'd love an Epas Setup so if anymore has one or can point me in the direction for what I need?

The PMS breather plate and Coilpack Relocation is fitted. Great peice of kit.

The Air Con delete is in the process of being fitted, needed an E12 spanner to remove the tensioner bolts so I had to stop on that and I'll finish it on Friday.

Only one picture as its still a mess. Can't wait to see it back on its wheels.

Thanks for the looking.
