JC5 from a regular clio into 182, urgent

I need a new box and cant get one locally, but I can get lots of regular JC5 boxes from say a 1.2 or 1.4 clio ph2 or even a diesel one.

Is there anything I need to bear in mind before buying one? Its only for trackdays and until I save some cash to rebuild my own 182 box.

off to lift a scenic gearbox tomorrow lol. looks like it will fit but bringing the clio one just to make sure!

well I hunted around the local scrappy for renault boxes and came across a megane scenic box that looked pretty close. couple of lugs in the wrong place and needed to move the big bolt under the starter area over one hole but that was about it. was missing two of the mounting holes at the top also beside the tdc sensor but Ill have to live with that. There is also an opening where the tdc sensor is which isnt on the megane box but it doesnt seem to be needed and doesnt obstruct anything.

All was going swimmingly I got the box fitted and bolted everything back up. Went to start the car and the starter did nothing. I could hear it trying but it wasnt even turning over. Tried a load of things but then the horrible thought dawned that maybe the flywheel was caught and not able to turn. There is a little inspection hole just above the clutch fork so I put a large screwdriver to one of the teeth and nothing would move it. So box back off (briefly contemplated suicide) and saw some marks along the bottom of the bellhousing. grinder out and smoothed it off a bit and box back on. Now turns ok. Still to connect shafts etc but I gave it a quick spin on the starter and its turning ok now so fingers crossed. Im going to burn it if that bastid box has to come off again

I have a psh1 one box, it has a speedo drive but it doesnt matter if you dont use it £250

whats going on with the diff on that megane box? TDC sensor also?

looks almost identical to the clio one, tdc sensor etc. clio box has a cutout and a bolt hole each side that the megane one doesnt have tho

well how are you going to mount the sensor?

tdc sensor mounts identically, the extra holes are to hold the box to the engine.

the end of the diff (male end) is flush! is my eye sight that bad?

it sticks out the same as the 182 box around 3-4"
