Have you been out towards Drumheller yet, or west to the likes of Field and Golden? Canmore would be one of my lottery-win locations to move to - absolutely stunning. If you head-on through Golden, you get to Revelstoke and the toilet that is Kamloops beyond it. Seriously, stop for nothing there other than a piss and/or fuel - there's nothing else there (unless you're a train geek).

If you carry on to Vancouver, you'll pass through a small place called Hope, where a lot of the first Rambo film was done. Great little Chinese there too - literally some an Asian woman's front room - lol. Calgary to Vancouver is around 12 hours with a stop or two. I challenge you to beat 9 hours in the VI!

Regardless - brilliant cars to own with the tarmac and backdrop to boot. Just more than a tad jealous!

I haven't been out to Drumheller yet. But I've done Golden and Field.

Canmore is amzaing, I think that is where I will play out the latter years of life if I can afford to live there!

Got a trip in a couple of weeks out to Vernon, BC for a bit of R'n'R. I might be returning with an RX7 that is for sale out there ;)

The trip to Vancouver is on the list for sure, the cars get bought into port there from Japan so maybe when Alfa 147 GTA's become importable i'll go and collect it from port and thrash it back to Calgary! 9 hours you say ;)

Very kind offer mate! Been lucky with short layovers generally but would love to see the collection. Been trying to convince the missus that we should have a break over that way, would love to see the mountains properly.

Just read from post 1. Looks like your having a great time of it in Canada. Makes me wonder what could have been if I'd stayed all those years ago!
Great cars you've got pal. That intrgrale would have been a nice addition though. I'd have been torn between that and the esprit though. There's far too many gorgeous cars in Japan!

Mars Red Clio Ph1 172 is currently going through the inspection process here in Canada. It will be lining up along side these in their 'new' garage!

So you bought the FD then! Nice!

Yes! Took a while to put the deal together but we came to an agreement in the end. Driven it a couple of times now. It sounds fantastic idling cold and when you get on it it pops and bangs. Definitely puts a smile on my face!

Looks like a resonator can to stop drone

Yeah its a resonator. The exhaust is designed by a company called SiFo and manufactured by HKS in Japan. It is specifically designed for Clio 172's. Quite a rare exhaust and each one has a build number.

So it's been a while since I've updated this.

Cars leaving the nest in the next month are the Delica and the RS Iceberg 172

But there are some fine replacements on the way

The Delica is my daily driver, it has been great for winter and has all the space you could ever need but the urge for a slightly sportier daily is an itch that I can't ignore.

The Iceberg Clio 172 will make way for it's bigger brother, I will have more pictures once the car has been processed for shipping. Big tick in the life goal box this one!

Also if anyone can identify the exhaust that would be some good info to know. @cat171

No worries! Car arrives beginning of May.

It has done 41k km so 25k miles, left hand drive. Comes with a mountain of service history.

Trophy front splitter, trophy rear spoiler, CF bonnet, aftermarket exhaust, aftermarket suspension (not sure which brand, I saw some yellow springs so maybe KW)

Steering wheel is doing usual ph1 Clio things so I’ve been in contact with @snappy to make it all pretty again.

Cool, that's really low mileage! It sounds like a good'un:cool: Yeah KW's are yellow, so if it has those it's sorted. Haha, they all do mate. I've stock piled three lol!

  A terrible one
Lovely addition, bet you're excited for its arrival. Appreciate it's not original but would you fit a phase 2 wheel instead of the ph1?

Thanks! I have an unhealthy obsession with the ph1 look so i'll be sticking with it.

I find the Ph2 wheel looks odd on a Ph1 dash.

What sort of money are the Phase 1 V6/172's commanding all in after all the taxes are sorted and what not? (if you don't mind me asking!)

For a really nice Ph1 172 at auction (sub 60,000 miles)...

Car price 250,000 yen = 1650 GBP
Brokers fees = 1200 GBP (Japan and Japan shipping from auction to port etc. and Canada combined)
Shipping across the ocean (inc. insurance) = 1000 GBP
Tax (10% on 1650 GBP) and customs clearance fees = 300 GBP
So then it's all legit in Canada - 4150 GBP (making some generalisations)

For a v6 you just change the car price and adjust the tax accordingly. V6 prices are very competitive out of auction in Japan.

What do the Canadians & Yanks make of the 172, do they even know what they're looking at?

I imagine they think it's a cute little toy right up until it out accelerates their 3 ton V8 SUV.

I gets received really well, people love it. But it does definitely surprise some people off the lights.

I am actually trying to selling the silver 172 at the moment.
