I guess the fact that it's rare and different gets it noticed, like seeing an American car on UK roads, it turns everyone's heads because you don't see them everyday, I see Porsche 911's & Nissan GTR's all the time, but when a tatty old Mustang burbles past me I nearly crash my car from staring at it.

Exactly, people go wild for my friends Ph1 v6. Definitely having Renaults out here makes for a good talking point.

If you look through the used car pages out here it is very depressing, it's all boring junk. Hence the love of importing unique things.

I believe back in the 80's they sold Renault Le Car. They were terrible so Renault has a bad reputation on the back of that over here.
But nothing has been sold since then, that is my understanding.

Renault Sports much fetch a premium over there, you should setup a side business importing them from the UK, they're bloody peanuts over here.

Hard to say, there is a 'base' cost so import any car into Canada and then the value on top of that car be tricky to judge.

I have mine for sale $6850 and see if I get any sniffs.

The more people see the cars and get exposure to them the greater the demand will be. Mine and my friends v6's will be at lots of cars shows this years.

Japan is really the place to buy them. So clean and rust free it's unreal.

Well there are no specialist out here. So there are a small group of us that do the work ourselves, using the guides and knowledge base on here and other places.

Friend pulled the engine out of his v6 and did the timing belt and water pump not so long ago. Actually not that bad. We have access to a lift etc.

With the correct parts sourced, we can do most things out here. We just take our time and triple check everything.

I initially bought the car because it was offered up to me at a price I couldn't refuse, I wasn't super educated on them. But its quickly become my favorite car in my collection! The rotary combined with the twin turbos is like nothing else.

There are some odd road names! What did you think of the place?

Not too struck on Calgary centre, but we went off into the Rockies for a few days and it was awesome. The place is huge, a visit to Canada makes you realise how small and overcrowded the UK is.

Yeah downtown isn't up to much, but there is plenty to explore not far from your doorstep.
