Hey Guys
I purchased a JMS RS2 Intake Manifold kit recently of the forum, it was brand new but I never realised there was a difference between the 172 and 182 kit / engine.
Issues:
1 - The 172 has a hose that connects to the top of the crank case breather plate - the 182 has the same hose but it connects to the plenum, but my RS2 does not seem to have anywhere for this hose to go, how is this supposed to be fitted? can I just not connect the hose ?
2 - The bottom left bolt that holds the manifold to the head, I got the bolt tight by hand but how the hell do you get in there to tighten it? does it require the alternator to be removed or am I missing something?
3 - Coil Pack Mounts - Completely different from 172 to 182, I guess I can make my own so not too much of a issue.
4 - Fuel Rail - Looking at the pictures on Stone Automotive's site it seems there is 2 different manifolds for the 2 different rails but I defiantly have the 172 kit and 182 engine / car but trial fitting looks to be fine, mounts all line up, Can any one explain the difference?
5 - Acoustic Valve on the 182 runs a vacuum line to the original intake manifold, no sign on anywhere to fit this on the RS2, Again can I simply just remove the Acoustic valve all together?
6 - Removal of the support bracket for the Alternator, Is this the case with both kits? just leave the bracket out?
Thanks heaps guys really hanging to get this all finished tomorrow so I can start getting some data logging for a custom Fast Chip Map.
