Just about to service... is this what I need?

Hi I'm about to take on what is basically my 108k mile service, which I believe is the auxiliary belt change? Firstly... can I just confirm that a 'normal' garage should be able to take on this task without mucking it up? Obviously I understand why the cambelt on the Renaultsport's should be undertaken by a specialist, but with the auxiliary, I'm not so sure?

I've found in the past, buying things from K-Tec has actually worked out cheaper than letting the garage source stuff from Renault directly. Unless you know of somewhere cheaper?

Now is this all I need to give to the garage, on top of a regular service?

O
r does the tensioner kit need changing as well? At this point not really interested in what people 'recommend' as such, but is this actually part of the service, or does this usually get changed with the cambelt?

Please let me know if I've forgotten anything else,
thank you muchly :star:

Speak to Ren-o-tec (or similar) in Chelmsford. Google will sort you out with their contact details. No website to speak of.

Failing that, Two-Techs in Dartford always get a good rep on here, I've sent many bods to them and had a few bits done to mine in the past.

Also most garages won't give you any warranty if you source the parts yourself.

Surely most places would source from a motorfactors for most things and not go to the stealers with their comedy pricing !? :dead:

Thanks... but if I was to go local, am I right in what I said?

That's interesting about the no warranty on parts sourced yourself, I'll have to check! Perhaps I'll get a few quotes on the parts.

Just cos it's on 108k doesn't mean it's a aux belt change, all depends when it was last done?

Unfortunately my stamps aren't very comprehensive and I don't have the receipt for that one... it just says belts done @ 72k so I would presume it's been at least 36k since the aux was done last!

Just a quick bump as almost ready to get this sorted now...

To sum up what I'm asking is: Is it just the aux belt, or the tensioner kit as well that gets changed on the 36k service? Thanks.
