Just got a 182! Awesomee!

Hi All

Been lurking on this forum for a while, but thought i would post today as I just picked up my Clio 182! It's my first car in 4 years as I have been at university and didn't need one. My last car was a 1.4 Rover 25 so this is certainly an upgrade! This thing is speedy as hell. Really happy with it, unsure about the black alloys though... What does everyone think?

It was £2300, 57k Miles, Both Cup Packs, Full service history, one previous owner, freshly mot'd. Does that sound a fair price? Seems like it has really been taken care of as there is barely a scratch on it!

Will get some of my own photos up tomorrow! Just wanted to introduce myself!

Not sure mate, It was advertised as having both cup packs. The garage I bought it off normally specialized in vans and family cars, took this as a PX so I'm guessing he was just going by what the seller told him. What do I need to look out for to confirm what I do have on mine?

Lal B3N - Yeah the belts were done last year.

Any niggles with the 182 that I need to be aware of?

Sounds like a little bargain then.

Exhaust rubbers are s**t and will cause it to hang low.
Steering wheels are crap, the thumb grips always come off although it looks like yours are still on for now.
Airbag connections under the seat are hit or miss too which will put the Serv/Airbag light on.

Does look like a good bargain for that money. Looks like it has the spolier pack (front slitter/lip and flared rear spoiler) The wheels are all the same on standard 182's but non cu was silver and cup was anthracite but hard to tell as yours is black. Best way to tell is to check lower the bolt spacing on the front struts to be certain.

54mm - Non cup pack
60mm - Cup pack

Make sure the belts are done and if not i'd get them done for peice of mind. Dont go to renault as they'll pull your pants down on prices Best off having a look on here in the traders section as theres plenty of reputable places that will be near you that have the know how, skillls and tools and are a lot cheaper

Looks like a bargain and has a Cup spoiler & Renault splitter so you've definitely got one of the packs, so I'd guess you have the other to be honest!

The gear number cap on top of the gear stick came off in my hand earlier... always a good start.

Whats your insurnace like mate? Im paying £2900 for a RB 182 and im 18.

My insurance was £750. Im 24, don't have any ncb though. Woah £2900 is a lot. I found Admiral/Elephant to be a lot cheaper than everywhere else, Might be worth giving them a try.
