I dont hate it, i just think the silver wheels suit the blue better.

I like black wheels on the white and green Gareth :)

Very nice indeed, mate. Hardly comparable, but my mate picked up his 2010 Focus ST in the same colour and wheel combination (black on PB). Looked stunning.

I have to say, black alloys on the white make the standard silver look sh*t. Do it, Roymund.

Looks really good..

Arent these RS's all underpowerred on book figures?

Some say yes. Some say no. A guy on FRSOC.com pulled 316hp/350lb with just a decat. Rumour has it that early maps had some issues. I can only say that mine feels every bit as quick as it should. In-gear performance and high speed acceleration is cosmic. Mental torque. Brute of a car regardless of numbers.

My Dad's had a recall notice for a remap - dunno what it was supposed to fix.

His was an early one - March / April 2009 build

I think I'll be going with black at some stage.... one problem is with the profile of the tyres and the way the wheel lips protrude they are soooo easy to kerb and scratch. I did one of mine in a pothole and I was being uber careful too... I'd be pissed off getting them refurbed all the time

Yeah I'm not too clued up on it all TBH but I know there have been map revisions. Luckily mine is a late car. There have also been issues with the intake hose collapsing due to badly fitted airboxes. All I know is that mine feels seriously quick. Even ignoring the fact that it's 3 seconds quicker to 100mph, the sheer grunt and usability of the power makes my old Clio seem like a 1.2 in comparison. No joke.

Suprised there being advertised at sub 24k already...

Yeah there has been some discussion about this. It's expected really. For a start you lose the VAT costs instantly on a used car. Popular opinion suggests that they will level out at this price for quite a while now that the builds have finished. Long term residuals are likely to stand up well. The RS500 might hurt prices a little bit, but when all's said and done, these will fetch 12k+ in 10 years time. Triple what you could expect from a comparable Meg 250. Agree or not, fast Fords have a huge following

I plan to keep mine for at least 5 years so I think the strong resale values are a bonus.

I definatley agree, you only have to look at previous fast Ford's namely the Sierra and Escort's.

The Mk1 FRS has held its value very well also.

Its fair to say residuals are strong, couple this as you say with time and it should level out, not taking into account the ones that will be dually written off/stolen and never seen again. Sad but the only way these will keep prices in focus (pardon the pun)

they are bringing the rs wheel out in black(and silver) but in 18 inch as an option/accessory on the ST soon, could get a 45 profile tyre on there give you a bit of cusion and some rim protection. could be a good winter wheel.
