Just got my new Cup... woohoo!

After nearly 12 weeks of waiting I finally got my Cup this afternoon.:D

Im well pleased with it. Very frustrating keeping it under 4000rpm though, not sure how long I can keep that up! Mind you , even below 4000 it pulls and handles really well.

I ve tried my hardest to find anything wrong with the car and so far Ive found nothing. The badges are even straight! The splitter was fitted by the dealer, no rattles or strange noises yet, only done 50miles though. The steering wheel is very slightly off centre, is that easy to correct??? And the bloody wipers go the wrong way! I didnt realise they did that, stupid french gits.

Cant wait till its run in and Im blasting round a track...

AAAAAARRRRRRHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Why is everyone such big girls?? I demand that you go outside now and leave 40 metre black lines down your road. What is the point of driving it like a sissy for 600miles??

Congrats on the new car yourll be very happy with it, but i can assure you, there is probably bugger all point in driving like a granny for 600miles.

I hit the red line with 7miles on the car, and although that may not be big nor clever, it made me very very happy :D

Because we dont want the engine to be f*cked in a couple of years...

Might give trouble well before then though and it aint just the engine you need to run in...

Can someone confirm that Renualt are just lazy gits and cant be bothered to swap the wipers over to UK spec on all clios? Im getting paranoid that its just a fault on my car now! They go from right to left instead of left to right.

The wipers dont miss that much of the screen.

As for running it in Im on 425 miles after picking up my 172 on friday, you need to let everything settle in not just the engine, If you rag it from day 1 then suspension wont have time to settle, youll warp the disks cos theyll get too hot etc etc, there has been loads of post on here about running them in and most people that have run them in are glad they did.

They are all that way , you will get used to it.
Yup, thats the way it is and you will get used to it...

In fact, I actually prefer them this way round as it means you can now squirt the wash wipe on the windscreen with the drivers window down and not get wet!

Gotta say ive ran all mine in. At the end of the day it is worth to know youve taken proper care of the mechanicals.

Took mine easy for the first 100 miles (took about a couple of hours) then for the next 500 miles I took it easy and ragged it, a bit of both!! When the frustration of running it in becomes too much, just give it a good old blast,

Gone are the days when you had to knock the excess metal from the edges of the imprecisely engineered components and change the oil at 1,000 miles!

Things are too well engineered these days to have to worry about treating it too gently.
