i have all my ' non factory spec ' renault parts declared. altho it does effect my premium, as they said its renault parts but a note is take as to whats different on my car. only thing that knocked it up was team dynamiq alloys and lowering springs. this is all with admiral multicar

jizz on the seats and in the glove box?

female 'juices' on the parcel shelf?

small dog corpses in the wheel arches?

What if I changed my oil to synthetic rather than mineral based?

Ha ha the list goes on.

It's just an excuse to milk the sheeple for more money.

also im only on third party fire and theft.. so does it matter if i dont declare them? cos i wouldnt be claiming for myself if i had an accident anyway?

surely they wouldnt say no to the third party if they claimed?

they dont! i asked about free mods and they said no sorry we dont do free modifications here!

lying b******s.

my mate first told me about the free mod thing so i asked and they said 'no we dont offer that'... so i thought that was the end of it... then when i came to renew, i told them about the mods and i got 'oh, we offer a free modification policy... but if you crash we'll only pay out for standard parts'

bell ends lol

in short. no. and with it being a ph1 its likely that any bump you have will write it off. but this is cs so you should declare all modifications! or you will be chased out with pitch forks

Hi

We can offer similar policies to Brentacre regards to modifications not increasing if you dont increase the BHP. If you wanted to give us a try for a quotation please drop me a PM and i'll contact you personally to run the details.

We offer like for like cover on modified parts, Agreed Value option and even optional track day cover.

If you can limit your mileage to below 7500 this will give a discount. Plus we allow a club discount on top of that for Cliosport Members.

Unfortunately we can only do drivers aged 21 or over

Best Regards

If it wasn't on the car when it left the factory it needs to be declared.

Behave.

Fitting renault sport seats, don't delcare. They're just Renault seats.

Fitting a "sport" spoiler, don't declare.

I bet you £9,000,000 you couldn't identify if the spoiler came on the car from new or not.

That's what I was told as well rob but unfortunately I had already renewed with all the bits declared... :( *rings aviva* 'yeah I'm just ringing to tell you I removed the sport interior so my insurance should come down....' *shifty eyes* lol!

Dan as a bit of useful information.... You don't declare the interior or spoiler if it is a cup/trophy spoiler as they are renault parts.... It helps a lot with price mate trust me :) and insurance is still valid btw aslong as the other mods are declared :) as for alloys go for banded steels ;) they are steel wheels no? :p

Please don't give out "information" when you don't know what you're talking about.

We specialise in highly modified cars. We can offer agreed value cover, like for like replacement on modified parts and optional trackday cover.

If you wanted us to run a quote id be happy to take some details.

If you can limit the mileage below 7500 we can often qualify you for a modified classic car type policy that give big disocunts for reduced miles.

I was told by my friend who works in insurance that if you don't declare your modifications and have a bump, insurance refuse to pay out, there's a bit of fine print that says if you pay what you would have had to pay if it was all declared your insurance is valid again. Although obviously its very fine print as they don't want you to know that lol

Not what I was told on here sbridgey... as they are manufacturer specific parts... Not something that were made afterwards like an interior change (or whatever its called on insurance sites) is classed as a custom interior made for that car... Not a renault interior...

Until renewal date jaff everything is declared on mine mate, I don't have a trophy or cup spoiler yet... And I was told after renewal that parts like interior etc that were renault parts were fine... If that's wrong its no worries to me mate :) but how do you go about declaring bits like the dash strips being painted etc? Because its not renault standard paint

That is wrong, otherwise people could go around in 1.2's with Sport body kits, Sport interior, turinis, cup spoiler etc without having to declare. - Most of that will increase the likeliness of someone wanting to steal it etc.

Hopefully you'll leave the forum soon, some of the "information" you spurt out is absolute b****cks.

Meh me neither, but he worked for an insurance company and thats exactly how he said you could get around it.

Dayum, I'm 17 (with Adrian Flux) and asked how much it would be to declare similar mods. This is the email I sent

"I have been looking into a few possible mods on my vehicle (RENAULT CLIO MK2 DYNAMIQUE 1.2 75BHP) including a new exhaust (Scorpion cat-back system), lowering (35-40mm springs), RenaultSport front grille, RenaultSport 172 rear bumper and an induction kit(K&N 57i). I have not brought any of these modifications yet so I am currently not declaring them, I am just requesting a quote of if/how much will this put my insurance up by."

And their reply

Dear Mr Brentnall

We acknowledge receipt of your recent email with thanks and would be obliged if you could note our comments below.

We can confirm if you wish to add the confirmed modifications to your policy, there would be an additional premium of £139.44 due. Please note this is from todays date, and will vary on a daily basis. Please confirm if and when you carry out these modifications.

If at any point you have any queries in relation to your policy please do not hesitate to email us at contact-us@adrianflux.co.uk.

Your sincerely,

Megan Ireland

If you wanna be a d*ck about it mate that is down to you, but I quite clearly stated I was only repeating what I was told by other members on here... Not that I have to prove myself to you but if you want proof search through threads I started and there was that information given to me on an insurance thread there

And seeing as you have a rod up your back and are intent on flame baiting me, please show me some other times I have talked b*llocks while you are there because I'm intrigued as to when I have...

Guy I worked with fitted the factory option sill plates and front fog lights in his otherwise boggo Nissan Almera and, being a stickler for the rules, phoned Admiral to tell them about the "modifications".

They returned his premium and cancelled the cover.

True story.

True story.

I was with Elephant (same company right?) on my last car and they offered mod insurance/cover for proper mods without issue. Bit strange! I'm now with Admiral and am about to get a Scorpion catback, hope they don't pull this.

Bugger, didn't realise this was an old thread from my search!
