Just had a power flow exhaust fitted

Hi all, I've just had a power flow cat back exhaust fitted to my car by a power flow dealer... I know it take a little while to settle but I was a bit disappointed with the sound... I asked for just a bit of throaty noise nothing stupid, well
on tick over you can't hear it ad through the gears it almost sounds standard? I phoned them up and they said they have to make it sounds almost standard and only a not louder through the gears due to laws? Ill post a video up later of it... But as a first response what are people's thoughts on this?

some one i know had one from local powerfow and was the same evn with middle box removed

go back and tell them its not how you wanted it and get them to change it

Well that what I was hoping to do but like said, I phoned them up and they said that's all they are legally allowed to do?

When I had one fitted on my old car a few years ago they held different back boxes in place until I was happy with the sound. I know it's not the best way of knowing if it's perfect but it gave me a good idea.

You could call Powerflow direct or another fitting centre and see if they come back with the same response about 'the laws'.

no not at all the place near me do de cat , "race" manifolds

they have done silly exhaust out of side with hardly and silencer's on big v8's

Well I have to go back anyway because they made the cut out too small on y bumper so I have a b**ch of a rattle at the minute, ill have a proper talk with him and see what they say... I dot want it loud and stupid, I just want to be able to hear it a bit, like a said later ill post a video up and see what people think...

Well for non sport mk3 clios I couldn't find any well know off the shelf systems like miltek etc. So I thought power flow would be a good bet... But now I've just been told scorpion may do custom exhaust :/

I got mine at a reduced rate and I liked the fact I could choose the tail pipe design to fit in with my car. I used it for a couple of years then sold it on for £30 less than I paid. I couldn't fault the quality of the exhaust and that's why I went with them in first place.

I havent had a powerflow myself, but isnt the whole idea that they will make a custom exhaust how you want it? If you asked for something and they said they would make it then surely they cant give you some excuse about 'laws' when they dont make it how you want it.

Sounds to me like they are just trying to get out of changing it.

The stainless steel powerflow I had back in the day rusted after 6 months. Nice.

Give Powerflow head office a call (01392) 203050, let them know where it was fitted and ask if you should have been given various backbox options. This would be a good place to start and hopefully if something requires changing Powerflow HQ can lean on them a bit to get it rectified.

there are planty. Who did you actually ask? I sell Piper, KTR/Janspeed, Oreca, even Akropovic. Powerflow are junk; Weigh it in

Yeah I know ... I know they don't do off the shelf for a mk3 but I bet they would have made one

yeah mate 197s are easy to find but there is a low demand for none sports :/

ETS in ripley used to do spot on eurosport exhausts, iv had a few done there a d they are brill.

if you went to powerflow in derby (britannia tyres) they are a bit crap :-/

Yeah i was going to go to ets in ripley but they have done a few things on various family members cars that didnt turn out great so i thought i would shop around, yes it was brittania tyres in derby haha, where abouts are you from matey?
