Jvc headunit sometimes goes back to demo mode

So I recently fitted a jvc headunit. However sometimes it reverts back to demo mode and I lose some of my personalised settings. However I don't lose my radio presets nor my Bluetooth settings. I've tried the obvious switching the power wires round to no avail.

My thoughts are as follows
1.loose connection somewhere
2. Headunit is defective
3. Could not having the stalk adaptor plugging in to a connects2 type device make a difference?

My Sony radio loses all personal settings apart from Bluetooth pairings when my battery is disconnected. Perhaps you have a power issue?

Think I may have sussed it, jvc released a firmware update so hopefully that'll sort it
