K+N 57i for 00> 1.2 16v Clio

I wouldnt touch a k and N and they are expensive. Ive just brought an HKS mushroom power filter which is Sweet. but a lot more expensive than a KnN

Yes, Ive still not been able to make a decision about an induction kit, despite that Ive been wanting one for about six months, for the simple reason that no one seems to be able to tell me which ones are good/bad! I have kept changing my mind between K&N 57i, Piper-X (normal foam one), and S-Spec (Piper-x mesh one)... can anyone advise which of these will sound best? I would imagine performance gains would be minimal on a 75BHP car anyway.

k&n will sound the best

s-spec looks the best

piperx vector - well its better than the standard filter

yep, gains are very minimal, though they are noticable

On the road there is probably nothing in it. None of them will give any gains if you dont feed them with plenty of ambient air.

Ive used K&N on several cars including my current 172 (57i) and always noticed a difference in throttle response. K&N have been in the filtration game for much longer than many of its competitors which speaks for itself IMHO. Green are a similar design and cater more for the European model market.

My opinion only, but Ive never been fully convinced with foam filter designs.

If its purely noise you want go for the K&N / Green wire gauze filters.

Cheers guys, thats the most useful advice Ive had so far. Youve backed u what I was currently swaying towards anyway (K&N) - (although the 1st couple of posts were starting to make me rethink it!!)

the only fault i have ever had woth k&n is that they can melt if located too near to the engine, other than that you will get a small gain and a lot of noise

iceman

i would have thought so, but you need the piperx adaptor plate for the relocation kit to fit
