K&N PF 172 MKII*

hi,

i liked the sound of my bros new shape mondeo 2.0 zetec after he fitted is K&N panel filter, it also seemed to have moretop end power and definalty had smother delivery through the range. What does the k&n panel filter add to the clio 172 mkII ?? does it lose 1bhp? personally i dont really mind because both the engine and exhaust sounded meatier with one in (until he wrapped it round a lamp post at 50mph!) where can i get one from in the UK?

thanks

Ive got a pipercross panel filter. God knows if it makes any difference though. It does make it a little more boomy!!

I wondered about the * too.

You heard it mate, a little more boomy than it was when standard.

You need some boom to counter the roar. lol

Hello

Thanks for your mail.

The 57i kit is a 57-0426 and would be £105.18 with Vat and postage.

The element is an E-9131 and would be £54.60 also with Vat and postage.

Ive actually just swapped mine back to the standard one as its going in to Renault tomorrow. I was going to ask them to check out the lumpy idle and slight jumpiness at low revs when in traffic. Putting the old element in seems to have fixed it. Just been round the block and it felt smoother!!

Ill know for sure tomorrow when I drive the 15 or so miles to the garage.
