k-tec cams next week

So my car is goin to k-tec next week to have its cams, cambelt and remap done, its and 05 plate 182 with de-cat exhaust and panel filter only done already anyone wana predict figures ?? would be nice to get 195 plus the car is only on 60k

Keep in mind 170-175 is what to expect from a standard 'healthy' 182.

What are k-tec's rollers like for figures anyway? I know a 1/4 mile trap speed is a better indication of power,but rollers are a good enough guide.

was your mates RR at Ktec? surely if you were a tuner/specialist and a pretty much standard car made this you would ask questions, not just send them away with a pat on the back? As when these threads come up makes your RR look unreliable.

There RR seem's fine to me, I made good power on them with 438's and it's been on other RR -figures all seem similar.

I normally expect 190-195. You do get some strong ones and some bad ones though. I did a high comp car down there recently and it only made 192 because the exhaust was strangling the hell out of it

I normally expect 190-195. You do get some strong ones and some bad ones though. I did a high comp car down there recently and it only made 192 because the exhaust was strangling the hell out of it

I made 195 on 438's at k-tec and 197 at a local company to me when I had the ktr induction fitted

You should be concerned about what gains the car makes and how it feels to drive as opposed to what the finale power figure is, most RR will differ on figures.

yup, lots of cars. Every one I've done has usually been +/-2bhp. Torque is normally slightly higher on a superflow rolling road

The RR figure is not what I was going for belts were due ect so seamed like a good time to have it done, wanted drivability more than anything and that is what I got

I think if all you are interested in is power start with a different car unless you have the money to turbo/super charge ect

meh its not goin on now untill nov 13th BUT i have a RR day booked this sat and ray west tunning anyway so i will find out how k-tec's RR figures are, yep getting there 438's fitted full cambelt kit incl water pump dephaser aux belt ect, and one of there induction kits and remap, forgot to mention aswell my friends 172 that hit shy of 190 bhp has got an exhaust an mani and decat too!!

And in reply to the fella who said about getting a diff car like skyline ect i would get a dc5 if i could get insurance for one at a sensible price so i will still with the clio for a couple more years

This. IIRC one car made less on K-Tecs than it did on Charlie's at Surrey Rolling Road. For all those 'you'll never see 195' people, mine made 197 bhp. Tanks made 203 bhp and Laines made 192 bhp, dominators made 195 bhp as noted above. That's 4 people with 190+. But, I agree with Dom, it's how it drives that's important, not the overall top end figure.
