K-tec drilled disks and kevlar pads

  Trophy #473
I Have had to order some new disks and pads after my litttle fiasco with a sized calliper carrier and instead of buying some standard disks and pads i decided to get some uprated ones. Now the way i drive, standard brakes will do me fine so anything better is a bonus, so as a spur of the moment thing (and metal agains metal grinding when braking pissing me off) I ordered a set of k-tec drilled disks and kevlar pads worked out about £50 more than standard stuff.
Im not a trackday s**g but do enjoy the occasional b-road, any opinions on this combo?

I'd never stick disks on my car with vent holes like that one them. I've seen enough of them crack due to excess heat.
Stock disk and pads are fine for most people. Harder pads are all you need forget these disks.

well, we'll see how they get on. is it just the drilled pattern that makes they prone to cracking or just drilled disks in general?

you get lines with the GDI kit for the same price!?

think i may cancel my order, and buy the GDI kit.

I've used EBC Turbogroove drilled and slotted discs before and found them to be worse than the std discs.

Be rude not to wouldn't it?

no danger if not..car will be in for service middle next month so i could get them to fit them as they said they need replacing next service.

Oooo...options!!!!! ;)
I do like the grooved max but isn't the brembo's the best? I drive a lot of motorway miles, occasional heavy braking,so i'd say fast road use...... DS2500??? Goodridge hoses too and whatever else to make me a happy bunny

my car was fitted with them when i bought it and iv never had any probs with them. Dont have those pads tho as iv heard their shite. as long as you spray the disks to flush the holes once in a while iv found mine are fine. i havent done any track days so they havnt had 'too much' stress.
