Slowly gettting there with the rear axle.

Main sections removed and started cleaning it up to see exactly what needs grinding down and how much.

Still waiting to hear when I’ll get my bias valve.
I really hope there’s no issue with my lines.

So, he didn't break it in the end then? I was thinking about buying the gearbox. Looks like a nicely sorted car.

Nah he didn’t, he met me half way aswell ??

I posted him all my suspension so he could get it rolling and did a deal.
Needs a little tlc but it’s a racer so nothing unexpected.
Need to get rid of mine, tidy up the garage and get cracking.

Anyone got amazing tips for removing stickers other than the normal methods.

The big sticker is going to be the problem

That's great. Maybe see you out in the Tin Tops then.

As for the stickers, a heat gun and a ton of white spirit is all I can suggest. I'm sure someone on here will have a trick or two.

Maybe maybe ?? I need to look into cut off switches as I think that’s the only thing I’ll need that I don’t already have.

White spirit is a good shout, I usually use brake cleaner ?

Just had a read of this whilst on my lunch. Looked brilliant and no doubt will be even better once done.

as for the stickers use a heat gun and some sticky stuff remover - https://www.viking-direct.co.uk/en/...JLGmWy2hhZJ5gy9cJ3DCLM0zHqrK6LohoCBjsQAvD_BwE

Also i may be interested in the redundant shell, where in the midlands are you?

Thanks bud ??

I’m in Rugby if you know where that is?

It’s sat on 2 pallets currently so would need suspension, hubs, subframe and wheels to be rolling.

Need to move the Cup shell around so made a dolly out of a sturdy pallet and some castor wheels from screwfix. Works a treat car moves around like it’s on ice. Slightest of nudge and it’s off lol.

The shell is ready to be scraped now with everything I want/need off it.

And finially finished the axle of the Cup, welding the PMS bearing kit and strengthening kit on and painted.

The storm grey shell is meant to have a Cup Racer Axle on so will get that off eventually and see what the differences are.

Need to get the storm shell in the garage as it’s still strapped to my trailer ??‍♂️

  Hi comp phase 1
It will be interesting to know if there is a difference in the rear axel. Looking forward to reading about this new build ?

What door windows are they ? Are you throwing them too ?

They’re ACW windows and won’t come out ? bounded in to well lol so I’m keeping the doors incase something happens to the fibreglass doors on the grey shell.

Depends on if it’s the Evo rear beam. They had extra welding and plates to reduce twist - essentially the same theory behind a rear arb
I’ve got a cup racer rear beam in the unit and it looks no different to a standard one but with spacers behind the stub axle

As far as I’m aware this beam looks the same as a normal 1*2 beam but has a hub type bearing with separate disc rather than the bearing pressed into the disc.
Is this a Proper cup racer beam?

It will be a proper cup race beam mate. They changed the rear beams on the latest spec cars, and these had the additional plating and welding. Or at least that’s what I’ve seen on those cars.
