Knocking when taking foot off accelerator N/S

Okay so when driving along and i take my foot off the accelerator there is a knocking noise for the near side, when i accelerate again it goes away. As i go faster the knocking becomes faster. Below 30 i cant really hear it. MY tracking is out a bit, car pulls right, i plan on getting this sorted, just wondering if the trackign could cause this or if its somthing else?

Cheers

where do i need to go to get it checked? eg renault, local garage? any idea on price if it is that?

It was serviced the opther week and it hadent been making this noise before

We had the same problem today! We were drving down hills and every time the foot was removed from acclerator we heard loud knocking. We pulled off the road and nothing wrong under the car. After reading around on the web, I read a post about the knocking possibly being from loose lug nuts on the tire. We stopped at a gas station and in fact I could turn some of the lug nuts on the back left tire with my hand. They were loose. We tightened them up and got back on the round and the sound disappeared! Scary that we were driving with a wheel that was loose and rattling. Hope this helps someone else. I'm not sure this is the only cause of knocking in these situations. But finding this solution from someone else, possibly saved us from a dangerous situation. Thanks to others who posted.

With the car on the ground, grab the front wheel at the top, and pull it backwards and forwards, see if you have any movement.

Could be bottom ball joint, or ball joint bolts loose.

Whatever it is, get it checked out.
