Koni dampers on 182 with cup suspension...

MCG

  Vauxhall Astra VXR
I currently have eibach sportlines on my 182 with the standard cup suspension, is it possible to get koni dampers for this setup and all the places selling them advise you can only use koni dampers on 182's without cup suspension.

Koni dodn't make a kit as far as I know for the 182 with cup packs since cup packed 182 have different dampers which need bodging to make work with 172 dampers.

what other dampers can you get which work well with eibach speedlines, which are compatible with a 182 with cup suspension?

There arn't any aftermarket bolt on dampers for the 182 with Cup pack apart from full coilover kits as far as i know.

I have a NON cupped 182 and have tried twice by two different company's to have the 172 Koni shocks fitted to my car and both times they have shown me and told me that these shocks dont fit!! And that I need shocks specifically for the 182!!!.... I am still well confused and am not sure what the hell I got on my car!!
Ive been to renault and they told me the part numbers for shocks and hubs for 172/cup & 182/cup both the NON cups 172/182 have the same shock and hub part number and the cups 172/182 also have the same part number!!!
The two company's I visited were BB Performance Tuning and Elite in Essex. BBPT measured the angle of the hub bolt holes and shock on my 182 which was different to the 172 which BBPT also confirm is exactly the same as there non cupped 182!!
Elite took a number from my standard shock and checked with koni directly if they had shocks to match the number they took from my car, which came back as a no show and basically told me there are shocks in developement for the 182 and they should be available in about 6 months approx.
I still dont know what hubs or shocks I have on my car??

Renault are talking rubish the 172/Cup use the same hub. It seems the none CUped 182 might use a differnet hub but I've not checked for certain. The Cuped 182 use a different hub 60mm spaced rarther than the 54mm spaced or the others.

Edde hi,
They did right down both the part numbers for hubs and shocks and on there screen it did show 172 and non cup 182 had the same part numbers 1 for shocks and another for hubs. And the same story for the 172/182 cup!!
Maybe they did get it wrong I know what some people can be like at Renault.
I did the other week by some new exhausts mounts for the 182. I gave my reg number they brought up the screen which had the exhausts mounts, it clearly showed the 182 exhaust on the screen but the exhaust mounts looked completely wrong!! I went away tried to fit these rear mounts which were completely the wrong shape so I took them back showed the man what they should look like and he said thet the mounts I have shown him belong to the Megane!! WTF??
Rob.
P.S Edde if you could look up these part numbers for me.. Cheers.
