Wasn't it something to do with the VVT not being wired up?
As far as I am aware from reading the thread (not a great way to learn about things, especially when the OP seems a bit keen to get all emotional etc) the issues with the car seem to be:
Cam timing incorect
VVT solenoid not wired in
VVT solenoid not working even when tested direct on a battery (oil pressure or solenoid failure)
And the issues with the actual job mtech did are just the solenoid not wired in (which if it doesnt work isnt going to make much difference till that is fixed of course anyway) and that the OP doesnt like that they removed the ECU (must admit, not the way I would do it for a road car either TBH, but can understand their logic if more used to race cars where you would never leave the standard ECU in as well) and that the OP doesnt like the fact that they coiled and taped some of the loom, which he then untaped and laid out and took a picture saying it was wrong, which TBH sounds like a fuss about nothing at all, I would have done similar as would anyone else not knowing the future plans of the car, you never normally terminate a loom back and remove all the extra wires unless the whole car is completely finished as you might want to add wheel speed sensors, or boost control, or extra inputs and outputs for anything else so its worth having the loom left in fact just in case.
20 pages of Matt listening to input from the clio forum and trying to help, and eventually the customer deciding to take the car away with the issue not yet resolved, cant really see how CS seems to have decided from that mtech is somewhere to never do business with TBH, in fact I feel a bit unfair saying Matt probably had little interest in the job when asked about it before, as interested or not, he did actually seem to put a lot of effort into trying to help the customer work out what was up with his car that had faults clearly before it was even dropped off at mtech in the first place, I'd have been charging for that time if it was me TBH as its not exactly mtech's fault if someone took them a sheddy clio with 155bhp on a set of 428s with the wrong cam timing in the first place?
