KTEC coilovers??

  PH2 172
Iv got a buget of £500 and iv heard alot people go on about how good KTEC coilvers are. Just wanted to know are they really that good want to have a nice low stance and also take it on track few times a year but only at shows etc and wnat it to handle nice aswell as the ride be ok to. was thinking bout getting them with the adjustable top mounts from KTEC to.

Seem to get good reviews on here, was thinking about a set for mine as well but due to rough roads etc I'm still undecided.

Remember to to allow for getting it fully aligned in to your budget though once they've been fitted.

How much is that Jon for the alignment?

Never had it done on any of mine before, I've never been that low.

Not to sure on how much it'll cost, Da would be someone to ask because he's had his fully aligned after fitting K-tec's Coilovers. I'm sure I've seen him mention in the region of £100+, could be wrong though.

Wouldn't worry about it mate, they ride really well compared to some coilovers.

About as nice a ride as cup suspension imo

Yeahhh, I've read quite a few reviews about them and the reasonable ride quality. I use to have a FRP Zetec-S that was extremely low on Avo Coilovers and after that I said I'd never have coilovers on a car again. lol

I was the same after I had fk's on the C2, epic handling but rock solid ride. They used to bang so loud if I hit a speed bump too fast. These are much better.

Yes they do, well they did for me last week :)

Just to clarify - I spoke to K-Tec today and apparently their own coilovers won't be back in stock until END of april - beginning of may :(

The raceland ones are in in the next couple of weeks

:( I may end up having to buy v-maxx instead - I don't want to wait 2 months for the KTR ones :(

Id wait mate.

Early KTR coilover days ktec said that they were going to develop track spec springs for them etc. I hope they are still in the pipe line as they would be a worthly add on at a later date.

Yeah but the thing is - the raceland stuff and v-maxx all use the same size springs, and the same spring platform at the back

So any uprated springs would fit on any setup

The only difference is the shock damping rate and the build quality of the actual strut

Yes it is - but seeing as neither K-Tec, Raceland or V-Maxx actually give specifications on spring rates or damping rates - it's impossible to tell which is best

And the fact that KTR's coilovers are made in europe and imported in batches, and so are v-maxx and so are racelands - I'm starting to wonder if they're probably all the same lol

They are not the same. Fred@BTM has fitted (and driven) a set of racelands and a set of vmaxx, quite a difference from what he said.

Yeah but he's said the raceland ones were very hard - and so has the guy who own's the car
But another lad who fitted them said they were too soft and he wants uprated springs

Loads of people with v-maxx say they are too soft and roll too much LOL

It's impossible to decide on any because none of the companies release proper specs for them and they all seem to be very random
