ktec induction kit

  gen 7 celica
bought a ktec 1.2 16v 2004 onwards induction kit back in december last year. dunno how many people are famimiar with this kit but the mount on the relocation pipe snapped and i sent it off to ktec to be fixed. just got it back after about 3 weeks. a new mount has been welded to the pipe but its not at the correct angle to screw into the engine and the original bolt doesnt fit through the hole at the end. so annoyed. dunno whether i should just bite the bullet and buy a new relocation pipe or send it back again. does anyone know if this is a common problem. dont wanna waste my money. cheers

Hi buddy, ive got exactly the same kit, with the ktr stainless steel filter (grey colour). Mine is ok actually and it fit perfectly.
There is some play where it is connected to the throttle body (with the bit of samco hose), and i had to adjust the angle and position of the relocation pipe in the samco hose, but with trial and error managed to get it lined up with the bolt hole.

luckily mine hasnt snapped as yet.

Im a bit annoyed though becuase the filters on their own cost about £75, and are labeled as KTR induction kits.

However i was in motorworld the other day and found the exact same filters for 15-20 quid. Their just universal ones, which k-tec have labeled as their own (i guess). They do sound quite nice however, but a bit of a rip off.

Id ring them if i were you and see what they say about the allignment of yours. Let me know what happens.
