Lacquer peel on air con panel

Hi Guys,

Have got a 2005 182 Cup with the standard air con (no climate) and over the last 6 months or so the lacquer has been peeling (falling) off the panel where the controls are.
Looks a real mess and wondered what I could do to sort it? The markings for the air con/fan controls etc are printed on over the top so a respray of the panel isn't really possible. Anyone had this before?

A picture would probably help so will try and get one later.

It's normal, mine actually appears to have cracked all over during recent frosts and my wife's nails scratch the paint off every time she adjusts it.

Mines same, only real way is to replace the panel (can be had on ebay around £20) but getting old one out and new one in isn't easy.

Currently in the process of changing mine over to a new one as the old one was all scratched
