IMG_20130131_111630.jpg I know it is an instagram picture, but since I made this myself, I thought it is worth sharing.

You guys are not gonna believe this. My buddy, national rallycross champion has no time to drive his practice car, and henceforth gave me an offer to buy it for dirt cheap. I could not pass up the opportunity so I have just purchased it!

I will be getting her back to my garage tomorrow. This is what I know for sure: it has a genuine renaultsport shell from France, it has full new roll cage with homologation, has a sparco seat, a new steering wheel with boss, harness, most importantly locally made rally shocks and springs (price around 1800 euro), the interior has been all removed and inside painted white, also it has some nice wheels and somewhat new gravel tyres. Furthermore, the gearbox has just been freshened up, as well as the motor has also been just renewed. This all has been done to get the car ready for this seasons practice, but champion has decided he will be taking his Volkswagen polo racecar for practice rather then this sunflower clio.

I cannot begin telling you how happy I am with the purchase! I have driven the car before and I know he has cared for it really well. It is just not all finished (exterior bits), but already ready for any events I would like to participate. The plan is to take all the new good bits out of my silver clio and put them in the new clio. I will have to readjust the whole mega-list but hey it is great news. Here are some pictures from his build of the clio:

I will be asking you guys for bunch of advice, and I will be giving this little thing hell and all the love I got. I hope you all can also feel the excitement in the air!

So a bit of an update, I have got the car back to my garage, and the first impression is just WOW, it drives so much nicer, my car feels like a medusa compared to this one. I guess the full roll cage, suspension, seats, wheel etc, give this feeling of rigidity.

Exciting bits are that my racing buddies looked into this chasis and it seems that it all has nice welds throughout and someone has done a great job on it. However, I have yet to figure out what chasis this is (posted in different section to ask about this). Also, a nice addition that I did not know about is that it has a good quality brake control unit, and a different silencer in the back to save my ears.

The bumpers are all in rough - horrid shape, but hey it is a purpose built car that needs attention.

Many things to come, and many more pictures soon.

Ugh it has been a while since I got to work on my new clio, and this is because I was busy with the old (silver) clio. However, since the weather is going to get better in the next few weeks I will surely do much more work. First, I have already bought a used 4-2-1 (182) exhaust manifold, and I will be installing that tomorrow, as well as getting a custom 2.5inch exhaust. Furthermore, I think today I will bring myself to clean the inside of the car, and readjust the seat to my own dimensions. Here is a picture of the manifold, and some more pictures of the car that I took after I have gotten it to my garage.

I am just wondering of how much money should I spend fixing up the car, or should I just go out and thrash on it properly on gravel roads, without worrying that it is missing a bunch of exterior parts and silver at some places.
