locking wheel nut rounded off :(

any ideas as to how im going to get the wheel off?? ned to take it off to change my brake pads. got the passenger side off ok but tried to loosen the drivers side and it has rounded off and im stuck?

will a windy gun and pressure get it off?

nah dnt get it drilled :p drill a hole in the centre of the bolt and use an easy-out ( E Z out ) not sure who makes um. but halfords sell them i think

Take it to a garage they have very hard (black) sockets that they will be able to hammer on and remove the locking bolt in minutes. I watched the mechanic do it, he actually tightened it a shade and then undone it. Those pin type locking bolts area piece of crap. I have removed my locking nuts and put back the normal bolts.
I had some good ones on my 5 GTT which were not the pin type. I am looking around for some the same for my clio.

yeah my mate got the locking wheel nuts off for me yesterday with the black sockets :) got standard bolt all round for the moment

You don't need any of that lot. A decent socket set will do with a hammer.

Tighten up the other three bolts as tight as you can.
Knock on a socket to the rounded bolt and try and undo it.
Repeat with a smaller socket each time until it works.

The big difference is tightening the other 3, sometimes it leaves the 4th just finger tight.
