Longer 5ifth...

Really interesting... http://reichhard-motorsport.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=25_148_395_396_1989http://reichhard-motorsport.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=25_148_395_396_1989

Reichards offering longer gearing for 5 gear.
Really interesting. Its a pain driving all the way down to the "ring", from up here in Sweden were the icebears rule the streets, screaming along the autobahn at 5000rpm...
A longer fifth would be nice. (a bit expensive though)

Anyone tried this.

BTW, there is a difference in gearing from ph1 to ph2??

Good response to this post heh? You know there is a difference in gearing from ph1 to ph2
I searched for the ratios ph1/ph2... Couldnt find the exact figures. I want to calculate speed vs. RPM(!) for ph1/ph2 and the different Reichard "fifth kits".

Thats why...:devilish:

Phase 2 172 have a shorter box to help cmpensate with the extra weight they carry.

Its not a massive increase as far as I remember

  172 cup,s2 rs turbo

as eddie says i think the ratios are very slightly different. changing 5th gear isnt that bad as its not a complete strip down due to 5th being outside the main gearbox casing. its behind the metal end casing. the casing is held on by three 13m bolts.

Stick bigger wheels on it? to incresae the rolling distance is 1 revolution = further distance sure it will put your speedo out but maybe easier.

The car may need to be at 5k for the power you need to keep the spped up maybe.
