I will soon be collecting another years NCB and was looking to up grade my car.

Like the way the Phase 1 Clio looks and have found a few adverts but i am having trouble on deciding on which one.

I love the colours on all of these, the prices are quite similar between them. The locations aren't really a factor in the choice.

At just under 70,000 miles, what work should have been done to the car?
And is there certain things i should be asking/ looking for?
Thanks! :)

  Whichever has fuel
I'd personally only look at a car that had the following....

4 good quality matching (at least Axel matching) tyres,

FSH, including a cam/aux belt within the last 20k.

Standard suspension set up.

Brakes have plenty of meat on them.

All that work alone will cost £1000 should you buy one that needs it.

If all those are ok, then chances are its been well looked after and will serve you well.

sunflower one looks nice, and very rare!!!

service wise, cambelt at 72k or 5 years, aux belt every 36k or 5 years (3 years is recommended by most specialists)

Get that sunflower bought asap!

As Daniel said, if all those things are in tact then its a winner, or atleast if you can get the parts cheap enough and are quite competent then go for it!

Good advice that.

Theres plenty of them around, so dont just pick the first one because you're in a hurry or feel like you have to compromise.

wow thanks for all the feedback and useful advice :)

Been looking on pistonheads aswell, just found those examples to be the best.

Proberly looking to get around £1,400 for my Rsi as its done just over 90,000 miles now!

Do you not think the Flame red clio is a better buy? Being cheaper and having done lesss miles, or can the cost be justified because of the rare colour?

Argghh really racking my brains on this, cannot decide on which colour to have.
I have seen Middo's car and that is really nice but i'm starting to warm to the Flame red

Go for the sunflower yellow :approve: but i would say that

The 3 you have picked are all around the same price & mileage, so it just boils down to which has got the best history & been looked after, & of course the colour

I was just looking at peoples pics of the different cars.
Then i checked your last posts and noticed you had just posted in here! lol
Your car and Middo's are both very nice indeed

If I get time tomorrow im going to ring up and ask about the red and the yellow cars, not too sure if the Sunflower has a FSH it just says lots of service history and I will ask if he will tax it as well as that runs out in January

Yeah jsut ring up and ask if its fsh & the belts have been changed thats the major things, ask for it to be taxed aswell, if you dont ask you dont get! id be very tempted by the red aswell both really nice colours

Yours looks to be a complete minter, nice one :approve:

Make sure the belts been done.
I recently bought one and the belt was done in Jan 2005 bang on the 5yr mark and about 20k ago. It will be 4yrs in Jan and Im already considering getting it done again just to be sure.
I almost wish I had bought one cheap without the belt done and then had the lot done as soon as I got it home, at least then you know its been done.
That sunflower is mint btw.

I rang the guy today, and he said it didn't have a FSH and hadn't had the auxiliary belt done yet.

Going to email the guy who has the flame red 172 and ask for a few more pictures, properly ring him in the week as well.
