Lower seating position

  Octavia vRS tfsi
Apologies if this is in the 'wrong' section but as there is none specifically that it would fit into, I've stuck it in the most technical of sections.

Are there any aftermarket seat rails out there to lower the seating position on the drivers side. I currently have it as low as it can go and while low enough to give me good head clearnance it still feels as though I'm sitting on as opposed to in the car.

With a number of track days in planning for 2008 I'm hoping there's someway I can get lower in the car, both to make me feel more confortable and to give adequate helmet clearance.

So, any aftermarket rails out there, are people doing a custom job on the standard rails... or are people simply not bothered?

the rails themselves arent actually very big, so theres no way of making them smaller, get a bucket seat and it'll be lot lower.

Yeah that's one option alright Dan. It's one that I'm not particularly keen to pursue though. I want to keep the car more or less standard as it's my daily driver. I'm only looking at two to three track days at most in 2008.

Maybe two in Mondello and one in Anglesey.

I had reclining buckets in my 182, can't recommend them enough. Much better driving position (lower than trophy recaro's), more comfy than standard seats, and so much more supportive on a track day.

What about rails from a mkII PhaseII into a PhaseI. There is a PhaseII 1.2 at home and if for any reason that I have to use it, when I sit in and drop that seat down it feels like I'm sitting a lot lower in the car than I do in my RS...

thats more than likely the seat being different i dont think swapping seat runners between the clio range would do the trick.

Well, for instance, is the PhaseI runner inadvertantly high so as to house the Apline changer underneath??

I feel my seating position in ph1 is too high also. Its a tricky one but never quite feel comfortable in the driving seat think only needs 10-15mm drop to be perfect, trophy seats are 10mm lower wanted 2keep original seats tho?!?
