lowering 1.2 16v advice needed

  2004 clio 1.2 16v dynamic
Hi all got a 1.2 16v dynamique with 17" pro race 1.2s looking into lowering the car now possibly on sportlines -40mm but there isnt a lot of room under the rear arches im thinking major scrubbing would take place lol
Is there anything that can be done to prevent this? Cheers guys

  Track 172 & Golf R32
i lowerd mine 40mm on apex yesterday but im on 16'' wheels , i love it.... so far lol

  1.2 Dynamique billabong
it wont rub depending on the tyres etc. ive got 17s on mine lowered 50mm (tyres are 40 profile) and its fine mate

Think mine are 40 or 45 profile. I think it would be ok if i ditched the subs as it sits about 10-20 mm lower at the back with em in.

  1.2 Dynamique billabong
the other day i had a boot full with heavy stuff like a welder and a load of tools, and 4 people in the car and is still didnt rub mate :)

  Golf TDI
although mines only on 16" its lowered 60 mm at the moment and the wheels are yet to rub on full lock etc .

  Static Low
Personally i feel that 40mm on 17's it will still be a monster truck.
just because the sheer size of the wheels. 40mm is ok on 16's.
my opinion though.

So maybe 50 or 60 mm will give it the height im looking for. concerned about the arches tho used to have an escort lowered 65mm only on 15s tho and wheels were pretty much touching the arches.

17's with 40 profile tyres will be only a tiny bit bigger than 15's with the standard tyre (think its a 55 profile) you can go down 60 without it rubbing but the splitter on the front may catch on speed bumps, also most 60mm springs for the 1.2 seem to be the apex ones which are really hard so im told.

50mm on 17s is about right :)
