I'm going to be lowering my Mk1 Ph2 1.4 RT tomorrow and just want to check a few things.
When doing the torsion bar does it matter about the position of the marks on the torsion bar with realtion to the bit it slots into when putting it back in?
Does it matter how far you put it back in or is it just as long as the whole of the splines are in? What sort of grease is best to use when putting it back in, or is any really required?
Is it OK to put the axle stands under the axle even when the torsion bar is out - if I understand it all correctly I imagine it is?
Finally - for anyone who has lowered a Mk1 non-16v by 55mm is it necessary to remove the arch liners? Do they just unclip?
Thanks.
