Lowering Safety

Right, got my sportlines delivered last night.
But my mum thinks its an unsafe, precise procedure.
She says i should get them done professionally, and that the springs should be done in a pressure chamber or something? Do garages even use these? I thought they just used air or hydraulic spring clamps.

Im right in thinking the complete opposite arent i?
ugh!

lol your mum sounds like a psycho! sounds like she forgot her medicine lol

unbolt the rear dampers aand jack up the rear and put new springs in.

take off the front wheels and dampers, get some spring clamps and clamp down originals and put new 1's on

it will be perfectly safe as long as you know what your doing. it will take you a while, just take your time.

i couldnt imagine what it would be like and how long it would take to use spring clamps without an air gun.

On a 1.2 the front springs are massive. As long as you have a good pair of spring clamps theres not much thats dangerous. Make sure they are clamped well and squashed before removing the top nut and when undoing them, do a bit at a time each side. Make sure the car is put on axle stands and you tighten everthing back up to the right torque settings.
