Morning all!

Just thought I'd introduce myself before I start spamming the forum with questions.

I'm not an owner yet, but I'm looking to get a 2nd car for weekends and trackdays and so far, everything seems to point to a Clio.

I'm currently looking at 172 Cups, and I'll be looking to modify once I've got it.

Current car is a boring Ibiza FR TDI, but prior to that I was running a Focus ST with ~ 280bhp + LSD etc., so I'm keen to get back in the fast car game.

Anyway, suppose I'd best get back to work.... ;)

The 172 Cup's your best best if you're looking for a raw track car.

Alternatively, look at the Ph1 172's (2000-2001) They're the same weight as a 172 Cup, but have a better cable throttle. They're also ~£1k cheaper than a 172 Cup.

I thought the 172 Cup was about ~90kg lighter than the Ph1? Though typically, I can't remember where I read this...

Also, doesn't the removal of the ABS in the Cup save me a hassle further down the road?

personally i'd go for a ph1 though, i never used to like the look of them but they've grown on me hugely, especially after seeing some of the gorgeous examples from members on here. cable throttle responsiveness and a simpler, cheaper itb conversion!
