30mm is fine. Are you asking how much did they cost? Sorry, I'm not from England.

Oh sorry, I meant the car is already 30mm lowered, but the new springs will be 45mm lowered. Yup was wondering how much the dampers cost? Ill try a google search sorry forgot you werent from the UK :)

I'll agree the bilsteins are a better shock, but at least with the AP's you have adjustment to raise and lower the car.
Just depends on what the OP is after.

Finally had a free day today to get the car cleaned and take a pic with the new springs on, took the pic from the exact same spot as before to show a more accurate difference.

Also cleaned the inside of my alloys, cleaned the wheel arches and brake callipers so been a good day haha ;-) there isnt a massive difference but the front seems better than before and the ride quality is night and day.

Thanks :) the ride is noticeably better than with the apex springs, car is much nicer to drive now and still corners nice and flat

Also havent had any issues so far with scraping, would have to be a bit lower for that i think

Hey nice mk3 i like what you have done and i have coilovers with a 70mm drop on the front with an astra splitter only slightly thicker but gives the front a different look and 80ish mm on the rear as i have my adjusters out and i dont really have many issues scraping only the obvious from being THAT low!
and what method did u use when you smoothed the bumper? Cause iv been told not 2 use fiberglass as it will crack in the heat and under vibrations makes me wanna go for the phase 2 GT rear instead

Hey thought id post a quick update since i havent posted anything in so long. Car is pretty much the same, just looking for some ideas really... Got the itch to do something with it again but dont know what :-D

Decided to give fitting the gearknob another go so this time but all of my strength into it and it finally popped off! Fitting the new one took a couple of minutes just had to fit the new knob to the plastic cover and tie it down with the old rubber band which was used for the previous gearknob and then the hole thing popped on with no issues what so ever. Really love how it looks and feels a lot better too. Here are a couple of photo's. The flash makes the top look kinda grey but it actually is black. Anyway here they are...

Hope you like it, have also been considering getting the alloys done gunmetal grey or gloss black as i feel they are a little shiny for my liking with the chrome face.

How did you manage to get the stock gearknob off?

Hey there :) to get the stock gearknob off i basically put the car in 4th gear, got in the back seat, put the front seats forward and pulled as hard as i possibly could lol (you dont need to twist or anything just straight up) it takes quite a bit of effort to get it off but eventually it will just pop

Not posted on here in a while, thought I'd share that I'm finally getting these alloys refurbished. Never liked the finish on them from the start so glad to finally get it done xD. Have chosen the finish "light gunmetal" so hopefully getting it done tomorrow at the wheel specialist. Will post pics soon as its done. Can't wait to get rid of the over-reflective finish ;-)

All booked in for Wednesday, think this finish is as close to the renault anthracite (205110) as i could find, TWS anthracite was definitely too dark for me. Found these pics on their facebook of a focus st with the same finish. (light gunmetal)

Hopefully the canasta's will suit it well, heres hoping lol ;-)

I think the colour will look good on the Canasta's! They are the best oem alloys by far for the non sport MK3's. Been looking for a set myself for ages but nothing decent ever comes up! Put some pictures up of the new colour if you can, interested to see what they turn out like :)

Thought I'd finally post a little update, not much has happened to be honest apart from the alloy refurb. To be honest wasn't sure about them after i got them done but they have grown on me now a little :) Also the renaultsport mats are MUCH better than the ones I had before :-D nice n thick fabric on them apoligies for the really dark photo, spent ages cleaning it today was rather boggin ;-)

Also removed the little box attached to the air intake hose, and fitted a cold air feed hose I got on ebay. Theres a little more induction noise now, also feels a little more lively low-down but could be my imagination.

Alloys arent as dark as they appear on the photo, they were done by wheel specialist, colour is light 'gunmetal'

so just another boring update with another identical picture of my car lol ;-) was wondering if anyone on here knows the rough price of getting a steering wheel re-trimmed. Mines seems like it has the thinnest leather in existence and is starting to peal rather badly now :-( other than that not much to add to the project. Also quite keen to get to get the dash interior trim around the radio/fan controls and fans painted in glossy anthracite/gunmetal, would be interested to here if anyone has paid to get that done and how much it cost.

Looking good mate, to save painting the trim probably worth just buying them in antracite, mine came factory in that colour :) If you have black id be willing to trade

Thanks! Been keeping an eye on your project thread, looking forward to seeing those new alloys on. Good point with the interior trim probably better buying them than getting them painted. I would swap u but mines arent the gloss black, just the standard matt sorta dark blue colour.
