Magic bonnet

Went out for a bit of light painting this evening, still haven't quite got this right but on the right road I think.

Anyway, thought you'd like a look at this, it doesn't look great with my 1.6 but I'm sure if one of you guys tried it with an RS it would be more impressive, especially if you've done a lot of work to the engine.

You take one picture lighting the car (picture A), then one with the bonnet open, lighting the engine (picture B). Combine them in photoshop, using a soft rubber on the bonnet of picture A, which reveal the lit engine underneath.

good skills man. i would have maybe left a little more bonnet in the pic though as it bascially looks like youve just taken a pic with the bonnet off, minus the front section

Are there any on here? I've done a search and found some amazing light painting pictures! Going to have to upgrade my torch, currently using a bike light lol.

To be honest the bike torch gives it great depth and the blues colour looks class with it lol nice job

It's an l.e.d one so nice and white, plus it's quite a tight beam. These are the only pictures I've ever taken of my car where the blue looks right, it always come out too light. Might hang on to it!

Compare those pics to the one in my avatar, looks like a completely different car! My avatar was taken on my mate's 5D as well :S

Not a bad first effort... car needs more light IMO.

Do you take your plate off before you leave your driveway in the mornings, just incase ?

Yeah even with a 30 sec exposure I couldn't get enough light on, then I read a couple of Shadowness's posts on here which suggested doing the front on the car in one picture and the side in another which seems like the way forward.

I just figured if someone wanted to clone a numberplate for a clio then the best place to look would be a clio forum, pretty paranoid like that though!

The difference between yours and Dan's above is the lighting. All I can see at the back of yours is orange glow and disabled parking. That's the difference between a good shot and a great shot.
