Hiya! Thought I would start a progress thread on the new toy. She's in pretty good nick but I just want to get her looking better!

So, I sold Daisy ..... 1.2 So slow, but an awesome cheap little car!

So, Daisy went. Picked up my 172 1 week later.

First thing I did was a good clay & polish

I then tackled the headlights

Next up the Fabia splitter

Slowed down a little, next was an enhancement detail. Didn't want to do correction until mid spring

I then got very impatient & bought this off ebay, £160! :dapprove:

Sent it off to spray shack to be done, its not the 1.2 anymore so wanted it done properly. Hopefully recieve it back Monday

While I was waiting for that, I bought a semi polished manifod from 1inamillion off here. Cheers mate.

So, I got it cleaned up this weekend. Only spent 3-4 hours on it. Sand blasted, dremeled & engine enameled

Still needs polishing some more but I can do that during tea brakes etc.

Just waiting for the fuel rail guard to come so I can get that polished up & fitted along with the manifold.

Then I will get some flame red paint & spray the engine cover soon. New bolts coming for it too :approve:

In the mean time I will clean the engine bay up as & when.

Looks great, really good job done on the minor mods so far and the cleaning up of the flamer. Seeing that manifold has forced me to stop being lazy and do something about mine, its shockingly filthy. How long did the manifold take to do / dry if you don't mind me asking? And what paint was used?

Car looks so clean I really need to get my finger out and detail mine. That clay bar looks filthy lol

Cheers boys, yeh she was very dirty! I just blitzed her with the clay, I dropped a massive bit too

I sprayed the manifold last night, used Plastikote engine enamel paint. Was fine when I got in at 11.30 today

these flamers are a superb colour,and quite rare near me.
not seen another on the road at all!

they look superb when the sun hits them.
was going to spend all today on mine with the meguires claybar ect...typical bloody weather.
ive also got the original "RENAULTsport" badge to fit as previous owner removed them.

top work and top car buddy.
(out of interest,what tyre dresser do you recommend bud?)

cheers guys, had a go at fitting the cup spoiler today. Either the wireing on the spoiler is fudged or the light is dodge. Will test it with the altemeter tomoz.

I wet sanded the headlights mate .... polished back up.

Decided I will fit 40mm springs .... recomendations? Had Apex on the 1.2, they were abit crashy.

Also made the decision to refurb my alloys, gloss black. I am on the lookout for turini's or 182 alloys but may just save hassel & do mine. Can't decide!

Recieved my brembo brake kit today, cheers very much mr G!

Not much has happened on this as of late, i have only polished abot of the rail guard atm

my wheels are sprayed a dark metallic grey,kinda like them.
would love some 2118's or turinis though,sheepish i know,but they suit the mk2 perfectly imo.
let me know what springs you go for please its my next step too.
was leaning towards eibach sportlines,but kinda put off by them hardly lowering much more than standard springs.

my wheels,if it will help you decide if you like or hate them dark lol....

cheers guys, Matt - black is deffo the colour! Look at the shine on that, puts mine to shame!

I may go with coilovers, depends on funds tbh. The vee needs a service next month so just the service & brakes on Daisy 2 atm .....

No Dawn, stick with silver! Turini's would look smart though, but only in silver

I've had the vee out for the last 2 days, im actually lovin black again! Having 2 black clio's was getting a little same old same old, but the flamer is a lovely refreshing change. Great colour

Is the Ph2 flame red different to ph1?

Just wondering as my car looks really dark compared to the above pictures!
