major engine probs

hey people long shot here but was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem i got,drivin along got into a little race with a mini cooper stickerd up with john cooper s works(hahahaha what a joke)smoked it obviously but wasnt really the real winner at the end as my car pritty muched died power wise like i wise drivin a 1 litre it just has no power band or just plain power,got a crazy tickin noise kinda sounds like really badly worn tappets at the front lower half of my engine but much more aplified kinda sounds like i deisel now aswell,any idea people,cheers

sorry my keyboard seems to be on its way out,yeah basically to those who didnt get me lol crazy noise at the engine complete lack of power after a 10 second blast lol,i was kind of thinking it was the bearings

Sounds very like bearings, what age is the car? Mileage?

Not just a coil gone is it.

its a 04 plate 45k,and as for the coil i have no idea lol

get a compression test done. If it's normal, fit some new spark plugs (and check the old ones for obvious damage) check all plugs are on injectors, and HT leads are connected to the coil and spark plugs correctly

Get someone to look at it who know's what they're doing. U'll get all sorts of answers on here from people guessing. A good mechanic should be able to work out what's up with it!
