Mapping Clio 182 in the south

  RB 182 195bhp
Hi, looking to get my 182 mapped next month as it's got cat cams and a few other mods, but not been mapped. I've heard bad things about k-tec, but unsure on any alternative specialists in the south. Can anyone recommend any alternatives and give contact details if possible.
Thanks

Mike at MWM is who'd I would personally recommend, having seen so many good examples of his work.

I'd definitely be taking the journey to Mike if it were me. You wont regret it. Better than getting a non Clio specialist to do it in my opinion.

Does anyone have any contact details for him and have any idea how much he charges for a rr map? Would be looking to get it booked in next month if possible.
In response to "wouldn't take it to a non Clio specialist" neither would I, that's why I'm asking and already looked into k-tec who are also a Renaultsport specialist

k-tec who are also a Renaultsport specialist

General opinion is avoid like the plague in respect to K-Tec mapping. Brilliant at everything else though in fairness.

Out of interest, I know Dan at 519 has a rolling road, does he do custom mapping? Or just off the shelf maps (From K-Tec?)

He's a little further away though

Rollers dont help you overcome the ECU checksum etc on the standard ECU.

Last I heard Dan was only able to offer custom maps for the standard management by sending them to and from Ktec for them to do them remotely for him, but give him a ring and find out I guess, he might have changed who he gets from from now as that was ages ago and I would hate to say its still the case without knowing.

Having the KTEC map done Wednesday, driving home like its a cold engine too until I get confirmation that the map is safe in the higher revs. I highly doubt the map would blow the engine up at 2k RPM's.

If it was an off the shelf map for a standard car I'd get an rs tuner. It's the fact my car is fitted with cat 428 cams, matched inlets, a yozza sport exhaust and an induction kit, so it needs to go on rollers to be mapped really.
I have messaged who you guys recommended and asked for a quote and booking info. Fingers crossed it'll get sorted :).
I highly doubt your car will blow up because k-tec mapped it. They might not be the best, hence possibly steering clear but they won't give out maps that blow up cars instantly lol.

Mikes number is: 07985 266042

He wont answer if he's in the middle of something though, so normally you'll need to leave a message.

KTEC certainly win on that front, receptionist available at all times to speak to etc, so its easy to see why they get business in that respect!

Then that shows how inferior all those other forums are LOL

They are not bad, but if like what you say; the map is a ticking time bomb. Do what I am going to do and get diagnostics on it. Not happy? Take it back and ask for your money back.

yeah they do offer a 1 year warranty on there re-maps

Lol. Yes and all you need to do to claim on it is prove they are at fault. Which if you go and read the utter rubbish they posted on here to EllenA explaining it wasn't their fault and her ecu had decided to alter the map you'll realise you have better odds of winning the lottery than managing that one.

I've heard RS Tuning is very good, I've also heard K Tec has a very very poor reputation regarding re-maps! I'll be making the effort to go north due to this reason! I'll say no more!!!
