After all the hastle i had with the Clio 200 and me also wanting to get out of the car finance loop so i can start saving for a house deposit it was time to get rid of the Clio. As i still had outstanding finance on the Clio the easiest option was to find a car in a dealership and trade the 200 in. Was looking at MK3 DCI clios but they were either high miles and low spec or expensive so was struggling to find anything, Then this popped up and fitted the bill perfectly so went and had a look at it, was happy with it so done the deal!
The car is a 57 Plate GT with the 1.2 16v Turbo engine, 100bhp and around 115lb/ft and should be good for 45-50mpg! Weighing less than a tonne means it shifts pretty well, its by no means fast but is effortless, 30mph in 5th gear up hill it will quite happily accelerate. Trying to resist the temptation of a set of 182 injectors and RS tuning remap for 145bhp but need to keep in my head thats not what this car is about lol!!
first thing was to give it a tidy up now im no detailer but heres what i used to get the results which im very happy with...
A good wash using the 2 bucket method with Meguiars washmitt and Meguiars Ultimate wash wax, Dryed with a Sonus drying towel, Clayed using a Meguiars clay kit, polished using the new formula Auto Glym SRP by Porter cable rotary polisher, washed again as above then waxed using Meguiars tech wax 2.0. Wheels cleaned with bilberry wheel cleaner and tyres dressed with AG instant tyre dressing.....
next up was philips silvervision indicator bulbs
and then onto the exhaust!, didnt spend to much time on it today but a quick clean up with a scotch pad and then quick polish with some metal polish
Before...
After...
going to have it booked into my mates bodyshop to sort some dings on the boot lid (looks like someones been opening the boot in a garage or something with a low roof and hitting it off something, and also the drivers side sill resprayed as its been kicked and scuffed with someone getting in and out quite badly.
