Matt's (2nd) Racing Blue 182 thread.

Hi guys, well after saying I would never return to Clio ownership, I went and bought another (my 2nd) Racing Blue and 3rd Clio 182 to-date.

Placed the deposit down this weekend and hope to pick it up as soon as our current car gets in and out of the bodyshop.

The car has a full Renault service history including belts, with a brand new Miltek cat back exhaust and great tires front and rear.

Condition is spot on, just a small chip/dent on the bonnet which should come out fairly easy I would have thought.

Plans:

Well the last one I had was staying standard, which lasted about 2 minutes, so this one I wont be making any promises.

Needs a splitter and will order some Mtec bulbs to replace the standard ones, silvervisions etc etc

Cheers Mike. It was either a ropey FF or a mint cup, so went for the cup.

Might swap the seats for FF ones, and have my eye on a OMP wheel

I always missed my old RB so just had to get another.

Might go for the FF seats, but I dont think Ill be getting xenons.

The Mtec bulbs are really good and I found the xenons on my last ones to be quite tempermental...

A Red 1.4 9N.

It's a great car to be fair. Comfy, nice interior. However it has the handling characteristics of a canoe. It was always going to be a cheap temporary car while I bought my house, however the itch has returned much sooner than I thought I could last!

Exactly. 182 FF seats are ten-penny, well looked after Clios are not.

Good find though mate. As said in PM, FRSH is a rare thing to come by, means little in the real world but it's a good selling point and I'd like to think it's been cared for.

Its a really strange colour on pictures, can look really washed out or really "full" depending on the lighting...

Payday today, ordered a few little "must haves" for the clio...

MTEC super white headlight bulbs - had these on my Mk5 Golf and are brilliant.

Silvervision indicator bulbs - ebay £4

New 3/4 front plate and clean rear plate from Fancyplates (using the guide on here)

Should have the car next weekend hopefully

True, I forget that my/your old wheels were silver at one point!

50-60mph really is no bragging rights Is it lol.

Same about the xenons as that's one of my favourite parts of mine, light output isn't great but they do look good

Then you have no excuse not to have silver turnis haha

Theres a guy on here with some 182 alloys in gloss black on his RB and they do look stunning, likewise Y7adw has some oem and it looks great.

I have just bought some nice cup-pack alloys off here, as the ones that are on have been refurbed too dark and the centre caps look odd :/

So I'll be sticking to then for a while yet.

I was seriously considering selling mine a few months back but I have fallen back in love with it. Also reading the thread about how hard they are to find, I know if i did sell it I would regret it and wouldn't find another RB as mint as it is, so its staying :approve:

Yeah things are great mate but for now anyway i'm still way over on the dark side, i have a cbr600 racing bike and i spend all my free time dragging my knee's around the track at cadwell park,
Thinking of remortgaging the house to build a new home in the paddock there , I'm going to do some amateur racing next year so getting in all the practice i can.

The V6 is now on my lottery win list along with the new ducati panigale
