Photo time again. My first attempt at light painting. Last pic rocks my socks.

New mods: Ph.2 Rear Lights, LED reversing lights, and since my old stereo died I treated myself to a new HU, a Sony MEX-BT3600, cracking bluetooth stereo.

Lemme see. This is the painful bit ;)

Dual optics £60
HID Kit £30
Osram Nightbreaker H7's (for the high beam) and HB3's (not used now as replaced by HIDs)£30-40
Ph.2 Rear lights £25-30
Interior, boot, numberplate, sidelight LEDs: £2-3 each
Reversing lights £25

And that's about it. A few quid here and there for wires to do the dual optic conversion and that's about everything.

I think I've got a pair of bulbs for the standard headlight blocks kicking about somewhere, they were fairly good, and not that old. I've also got a pair of Ph.1 rears lying around here but they've got a few cracks in them.

Ah cool what bulb is it for the licence plate bulb, i really want an ice white one ;), definitely looking at the dual optics and HIDs, were they easy to fit and where did you get that?

License plate bulb is 245 ;)

Dual Optics and HIDs were both bought from people on here, not the hardest conversion in the world, just unclip all the wires, unscrew the front grille and headlight blocks, bolt the new ones in, do a little rewiring and front grille on. Took me about an hour first time. Rewiring is the hardest bit, and it's not too hard.

Time I resurrected this thread.

Brought the car to CSS, VTEC kicked in y0 against the side of my car on the way back. Left me feeling disheartened because my car's not perfect any more. Since then I've pretty much left it as-is, but I think there's a few bits left to do.

Next month...

I'll finally get new numberplates, honest.
I'll be installing fogs. Possibly Laminx-ed.
The dials will be replaced with a set of RS dials, which I'll be getting converted to white rather than orange.
And a Ph.2 interior light (with map light)

Stay tuned!

what type of wiring is involved is there a free guide on the web or website to do the conversion

  Phase 1 172
the list is almost endless! they range from Renault specialists to general motor factors to body shops etc.. even Ktec racing are in on it. you would very quickly make your £12 back in discounts..

Well, I'd better update this.

Sadly in February the mighty 1.2 was involved in a 70mph crash on the A38. The poor thing came very close to being written off.

However, finally after battling the insurers for 2 months, the beast is back with 8 lives remaining. It's lost its dual optics for the moment :)dapprove:), but it does now have foglights (which don't work yet). Got to do Alternator + belts this month, but hopefully I'll have enough pennies left over to get it back to how I want it again. So here's a pic of how she stands at the moment:

(Note: The paint isn't actually two colours, that's just a camera fail. Also the bonnet hasn't been touched, so it's still slightly twisted and there's a little damage in the corner, but that's all that remains of the crash damage.)

Yeah, got the b*****d who caused it too, even though he drove off.

When the payout eventually turns up I'll probably end up on coilovers too lol. This is a lie, I will probably save it for a 1*2.

As you say, least you got him, my friend was in an accident and the person who caused it drove off :(

Haha yeah the saving it for a 1*2 sounds like the best plan ;)
