mdf speaker rings

fiddled around a bit today, replaced the crappy rear factory speakers with the slightly better (blaupunkt) factory mids that were in the front.

then made some mouting rings for the mids upfront - not sure if they will make a diff - think I need to maybe try get some self tappers through the mdf ito the door skin, perhaps 1 in between each speaker screw ?

what you reackon ??

so basically all you need to do to upgrade the speaker size is to cut a mdf ring and stick it on?
is there much more to it or is that it?
