Mintex M1144 too much for a 1.4?

Hey

My brake pads are worn and figured if I am going to change them, upgrade them! I do have a tendency to brake hard so wanted some pads with abit more bite in them. I am not doing track days with my car so this is purely for road use.

Question is, Are Mintex 1144 brake pads too much for a 1.4? A local garage was trying to down sell me saying these brakes are too powerful for a 1.4.. Is this true? Any help/answers greatly appreciated, cheers.

Regardless of power the car still weights the same (more or less). Depends how fast your breaking from i.e in corners, but seeing as you don't see track use I would say no, but if you get them at a good price there is no harm in trying.

Go for it, my 1.4 was hilarious. You could go full hero everywhere. Uprated brakes can only be a good thing. And coilovers, and good tyres.
