i drive a ph1 172. never driven a 182. cant imagine it to be much better. but 182 costs ££££££££ more so thats why i bought mine.

MK1 172 if you want the raw feeling when driving, wee 15" wheels, alu bonnet, lighter etc

theres always the 172 cup too but the RS1 is the best of both worlds, all the toys with the light weight of the cup

Like gareth said you've been styling your 1.2 to a ph1 172 so you must like the look of them? and they wont break the bank, mine will be up for sale nxt yr if you want to wait ive drove a 182 a few times (with cup packs) and its alot more refined than the 172, but like ppl have said the 172 seems more raw, but it would have to be a trophy all day long for me Giles :approve:

put a 2.0 in yours giles u seem like a handy guy could probably do most of it yourself! plus you already have the wheels, full interior, decent suspension etc.

I could do that, but it may will cost more insures.

The standard mk1 172 is cheaper.

however, you can buy two Mk1 172s for the same price as a 182

apparently it doesnt cost more if you transfer the reg from the car the engine is from to your car and say that it is the 2.0 rebuilt (not sure how true this is though)

my rs1 was mint car for the fast ride and rawness.. drove biffs,adtmits,maz'z 182's n they have soooo many more toys and feel smother..

but didnt feel as fun as the mrk1... but u get to know your own car so they would say the same lol
