Mk1 Engine Transplant

I know of the 5GT Turbo and the Volvo turbo conversion but are there any other conversions that can be done to a Mk1 clio relatively simply (not 16v or RSi engine).

I quite fancy doing a conversion in the summer but don't know what would be best. My car isn't anything special but I think I just like the idea of having a sleeper:evil:

Since Im in the middle of helping with the volvo conversion I would have to say the gtt would be easier!!! But thats me just assuming really! The only engine youve not mentioned is the willy one!

What's all needed for the volvo conversion and how much is availiable off other clios etc (engine mounts etc)?

It's all just a thought just now but I would quite like a bit of a project so just want to assess my options.

Outside the above options theres nothing thats going to be that much quicker thean the RT you've got.

You could try a megane 1.6 RT...basically a bored out RT engine but it's MPI you'll be able to remap to a worthwhile degree if any modifications are done. Then again, if you're doing that, may as well go RSI/16v...
