Mk2 clio 1.2 pe engine change???

Hiya, I'm new to this forum and renault's. just bought a mk2 2001 clio 1.2ltr petrol. obviously the engine couldnt pull the skin off of soup.

I work at audi and i'm fed up of the vag scene.

Does anybody know if there are any bolt in lumps (drive by cable throttle) that will fit?

can i get a loom for it or will i have to make one? engine ecu recoding etc?

can i get a cable throttle bodied engine or will i have to change pedal box etc?

Gear boxes?

Any help would be appreciated

you could drop a 2.0 F4R renault sport engine in, but plenty wil ltell you by the time you convert the engine, ancilleries, running gear, insure the whole lot etc. you could just /buy/ a 172 or 182.

Is it abit of a pain dropping a different engine in a clio?

All Mk2 clio engine use the same mount points IIRC so they're pretty close to plug and play.
​I think i saw a clio with a TT engine in it - that was probably pretty exciting.

Would be better with tge tt-rs engine ;p would love to make it four wheel drive with a big power plant lol

It'd be a lot cheaper and less hassle to just buy a bigger engined Clio. They are cheap cars these days - even the 2.0s.
