mk2ph1 disconnecting battery

DIsconnecting the batt so airbags dont deploy cos im fitting some new dials.

Black terminal came off ok, but how do you get the red one off? it has a cap? thanks

the red cap sould come off and iirc its a 10mm smanner needed to losen it off,

you really should dissconect the red 1st as now your can isnt earthed but still live

then you need to leave it for 10 mins before starting pulling things apart

When you say come off, how?! I tried prysing it off with a spanner a bit just snapped off

i think they are all different tbh mate, mine has a clip..

actually mine just comes off even when you dont want it too ;p;

well on this red cap it has a large strip of plastic in the middle (almose as if I have to screw it off?) however screwing it off doesnt work. If anyones got a mk2ph1 and could post there engine bay / battery it would be appreciated. Cant find my camera atm

You only need to disconnect the negative terminal, its quite safe to leave the pos. in place as long as your not working around the battery area with spanners.

Whats all this airbag deploying stuff? why should removing the dash trigger the airbags anyway>!?

I know if you remove the airbags you need to disconnect it but wouldn't have thought the dials had any bearings on them deploying

Ive removed the dashboard but now the dials look different. How do i fit the dynamique ones?! HELP!

Just to confirm these are silver dial surrounds.

Ive decided theres no way itll fit! so ive snapped off the actualy "silver" bits and just gnna stick them ontop of what i have now!

Angle grinder on the back plastic to make it thin as possible... and fit!
