More Inferno

Bored, I decided to dig out the engine cover from the attic. I took it off the day I bought the car, as they're a complete waste of time and just get in the way when trying to work in the engine.

However, I painted it anyway. Need to give the bay a proper clean before I fit it, as its covered in crap from the bodyshop. Im not gonna bother polishing the plenum on the 182 like I did on the 172, as its just too much hard work. Was thinking of painting the whole engine black... but I'm undecided.

Opinions on what to do with the rest of the engine?

Dan, keep it looking stock...

To have an original/mint looking clio is a rarity now adays!

I don't think black will work (to dull) polished will look good (get one ready polished) I think inferNO;) is a bit of an odd colour to find another colour to go with.

I was thinking the same. TBH I only painted the cover to pass a few hours.

I might even sell it... just need to find someone dumb enough to buy an Inferno coloured engine cover... ;)

lol, the car's pretty much black as it stands at the moment anyway!

Next on the job list is to clean it. Not been done since October.

Where did you get the paint from? Good skills on the spraying: when I did my wing mirror after someone smashed it off, it was noticeably duller and more matt than the OEM side. Got any pointers for a spraying novice?

take your time. Plenty of thin coats of laquer, and once cured... plenty of polish.

paint came from AutoPaint in St Helens.
