Engine bay spruce up:

Always looked dirty in there, so spent a few hours cleaning.
Then a few new parts such as an oil cap, battery cover, engine cover sprayed in Storm Grey with new decals.
Managed to get a set of Megane engine cover bolts from my old inferno 225 courtesy of @jamesycc thanks matey :)

Trophy 182

Front under arch re-fresh.

Looked grubby under there so loads of new parts bought including discs and pads, track rod ends, lower ball joints, mounts, bearings. Sachs removed and checked over, cleaned and given a lick of paint. Springs all painted with all old paint removed before a coat of capsicum red. All arch liners removed and cleaned, new black arch clips fitted, new stainless steel screws fitted in the lower arch/bumper/side skirts, all new bolts where ever possible - struts, wishbones etc. Calipers and discs painted silver hammerite, wishbones and hubs painted in black hammerite.

182 Trophy:

Rear underbelly refresh.

Also looked a bit tired under there and never had a rear main exhaust shield underneath so also a great excuse to put a Scorpion exhaust on - always loved the sound of these :) as the exhaust had to come off.
Removed, cleaned and painted just about everything under there :)
Sorry no before photos and need to get a few with the exhaust fitted.

Amazing work. How much did you remove the paint the rear beam etc on the trophy?

Thanks mate.
I only gave it a quick going over with a wire brush to remove any surface rust as I didn't want to remove any original rust protection.

Ugh, I've made a mess in my pants now! How far off hitting the road is it? I really really want a go in it when you take it out. [emoji120]

It's nearly all back together, then a matter of priming all the fluids and ironing out all the niggles (yes there will be a few). Need to sort the carb out as it was running a group A carb and absolute nightmare to start cold.
I'm also still not happy with the tailgate and bonnet but I have a brand new replacement bonnet and an immaculate rust free campus tailgate that need painting and fitting.

On my holidays next week for a couple of weeks and will start again on the 5 as the rest of the bunch are complete (for now).

That looks better than new!

Thank matey

Just so much awesome, just been on a 'like ' frenzy...……… great work Paul!

The engine bay really does look spot on now tho on the Storm

Thanks for all the likes mate and yes the engine bay has come up very nicely - always let it down a bit :)

Can you come and do my car for me when you get a spare few hours @mossyv6? ?

Thanks matey - I can fit your car in about year 2022 ;)

A couple of small jobs done today.

Aerial base gasket - a very common issue on the vee unfortunately. Managed to get one from Steve from Rsports following a custom built group buy a few years ago (you can't get them anymore) but never got around to doing but only took 30 mins.

Perfect [emoji108]. You bringing the vee to CSF Paul?

Hopefully matey :)

Looking good! What cover is that? does it accommodate the trophy spoiler nicely?

The blue one is a custom fit one from a group buy on v6clio.net many moons ago - about £200 but is superb quality and fits like a glove , I have another one over it and yes both fit fine with the spoiler.

All looking so good Paul.

Would love a collection like yours!

Still need to paint and fit my sprint spoiler but had more important things to do.

Thanks and awesome work buddy.

That vee really does look very cool! :D

Nice touch with the aerial base, a lot of work for something so small (getting to it) but so worth it

Thanks Steve - yes them small annoying jobs that are so satisfying when done.

Also good news on the spoiler colour - dug the car out into the sunshine and the colour match is really good - so I will leave it alone :)

They all look s**t hot, but your Vee.. OMFG!!!!! Honestly one of the best I've ever seen! ???

Thanks buddy for the kind words :) I went back to oem a couple of years ago and removed the spoiler and Cromodoras but I just the love the way it sits like this.
Also car still feels like a new car to me even though I have had it 13 years but I have only done 13k in it.
This will be my 3rd car show this year in it :)

Yeah it looks soo damn good!!
I've had my Phase 1 (also Illiad blue) for 11 years, done 25k in it, now on 52k. It's still original (even down to the tape player lol!) I always wanted a set of Cromodora's, I just love them!

Phase 1 Illiads are one of my favourite motors :) glad you still have it. Do you do any shows in it?

Thanks :)
Sadly not for a few years, I was looking forward the Origine RS one as I've not been to it, but I found out it's skipping this year :(
