I've got one at my dads but that's no use to meHave you got a press also to do the wheel bearings? I have got some new wheel bearings (cost £40) also but was going to take them to a willing garage to sort them for me. As said I think I can do the lower swivels myself.
I have a pair of spare hubs ready for the rebuild.
Oh and @Brigsy it because of your thread on turborenault you have given me confidence to do the lower swivels at home - so a big thank you matey.
Oh and I hope that Tungy 5 is going well - I chatted to you last year in KFC car park of the M1 near Chesterfield

It's on the list of "tools to buy when I get paid on Friday"😂😂
Class that was on the way back from Retro show gtt is sat in the garage waiting for the lockdown to finish, a couple of small jobs to do but nothing too bad. Still got your gtt?
Swivel bearings are dead easy to do, ive just refurbished a set of hubs for my kangoo, some pics in the thread. A lot of the time if there is no play and the lower bearings are just stiff, you can simply regrease and refit and they will be fine. No special tools needed at all.
Grease bolts are a good upgrade for future maintenance too, and cheap enough to buy.
If you need any advice or stuck just give me a shout.

Good bit of kit. Fitted a set to the mrs meg ages ago and easy maintenance.
Jesus hahaha I've got a spare set of grease bolts ffs 😂 😂
The press I'm looking at is £150 but I'm having a look about for a bigger one maybe second hand lol
Trust you did up hand tight so next time don't have the same struggle
V6 looks like a nightmare to work on. Ive heard cambelt is great fun!
Were have your trophy bits gone? Looks much better OEM to be honest [emoji1303]

Just showed my mrs your collection in the hope she let's me buy another Renault
I want an R19 16v or a van ffs😂
I quite like 19 16v mate - phase 1 3 door hatch in 449 blue
I offered to buy this one as he saw me in my 172 one day.View attachment 1388611
A bloke round near me has this for a daily. God knows what he has tucked away in a garage if he drives round in a R19 16v everyday
Thank you. And yes agreedSuch a fabulous collection of cars. Would love to see a 19 16v build! Someone do one please!!
I will let you know buddy 👍Ooh yess a 19 16v would be good. I used to work with a guy who had one from new on a j reg. He had it 20 years!
@mossyv6 I always wanted a white 5 but had 2 tungys and an electric blue. When you've had enough of it I'll happily sell a kidney for it 😂👍.
Thanks Ben 👍Awesome mate!
Great aint they mate - proper old skool. Raiders are awesome, somebody offered a mint one a few months ago and I was very close to buying it.Love the pop out rear quarter windows on these I like the white the most even more than my raider I had back in 1994. Super cars mate , stunning 👍
I saw this car last year on the M1 and gave it full respect!I offered to buy this one as he saw me in my 172 one day.
Said he was gonna be buried in it😥😂 Shame because it needs some proper love
I think my mrs would genuinely smother me in my sleep though. And not with her chest either unfortunately🙄😂
Thanks mate. If I get furloughed again for another 3 weeks I am going to crack on to see if I can get it running again.Gtt looks great i got mine out for a clean up earlier on too. So retro compared to the modern Renaultsports.
Any chance you've got a link to the expansion bottle cap mate?
And we need a bay pic of it all finished!
Thanks mate.That looks wicked!!
I need to make one of those brakes for my battery cover, it currently has 2 cable ties holding it down! And that matting idea is gold! Mine flops around like a jumbo sausage in a chip shop
Thanks mate.Engine bay looks great. I prefer the 225 engine with all the oem plastic covers on, look miles better.
I'm gonna be copying both of those things on my car tbh mateThanks mate.
It’s strange as I see a lot of early meggy’s with battery covers but the 3 I have owned have all had to be retro fitted.
Yes the floppy scuttle wall is a royal pain the arse - hopefully this will hold up.
